About me

Hello! I'm a licensed psychologist based in Maryland. I received my doctorate in clinical psychology from George Washington University, completed my internship at Duke University Medical Center, and have been practicing for over a decade. I work with children, adolescents, and young adults struggling with depression and anxiety concerns, adjustment and transitional issues, learning difficulties, and behavioral problems. I am excited to meet you and learn how I can support you in this phase of your life's journey!

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session together, we will start by getting to know each other with brief introductions. Then, we will start discussing what brings you to therapy at this time, including your specific concerns and challenges, and your goals for our work together. This will help me develop an appropriate, culturally relevant plan for our work, and will help you have a better understanding of what our work will look like in subsequent sessions.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

With over a decade of experience working with culturally diverse youth and young adults and a commitment to using the most relevant and empirically supported treatments, I adopt an open and empathic approach to helping you. I welcome the opportunity to learn more about you and help you gain the knowledge, skills, and tools needed for success.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with school-aged youth and young adults who are transitioning from one stage to another (such as from middle school to high school, high school to college, college to post-college). My clients want to feel better (or do better), but aren't sure about how to achieve these goals. They are often curious about therapy, but may feel uncertain or doubtful that it can help them.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been trained in and have used CBT through a culturally sensitive lens for the past 15 years. This treatment approach has been helpful for clients presenting with a wide range of concerns. You will learn how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other, and we will work together to use this knowledge to change unhelpful or negative thinking patterns. This process will help you feel better and achieve your therapeutic goals.
