My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

My main focus is on supporting each individual client in the best way for them which is what I love about the person-centered approach. This approach allows the therapist and client to be a team and allows the client to be in charge of the therapy course. This type of practice steers away from the idea that human beings are flawed and require treatment for their problematic behaviors. Instead, it empowers clients and provides them with the tools and resources they need to understand themselves and achieve psychological growth. Person-centered therapy is a type of non-directive therapy that is empathetically driven toward providing a person with a safe space to talk, self-actualize (realize their full potential), and make positive changes in their life. I want to ensure each of my clients feels they are getting what they need from sessions so while I sometimes use CBT or DBT techniques. I follow the client's lead to help them get they feel they need.
