My approach is the culmination of over 20 years of personal experience, study and work in the fields of social worker and therapies . Deeply listening and living in life’s fullness has been my touchstone and a guiding light that continues to inform and teach me. I look forward to talking with you and learning more about how I can help.
Our first session will include a discussion of informed consent and give me the opportunity to hear your story.
My greatest strength is the ability to hold space for the therapeutic process while engaging in difficult conversations with compassion and kindness. With over 25 years of experience working with parents and children who have experienced trauma—whether through schools, the community, social services, or the penal system—I have gained a deep understanding of the challenges many people face. This work has also given me the opportunity to serve a highly diverse population and develop a well-rounded, culturally sensitive approach to care.
My ideal client is someone who is ready to face life’s twists and turns and is open to learning how to maintain mental wellness in spite of them. My practice is solution-focused, with sessions designed to help clients develop positive attitudes and effective strategies for navigating life’s most complex and challenging circumstances.
I have used Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as my primary modality for approximately 12 years. I share the belief that maladaptive thinking often leads to self-fulfilling prophecies. My goal is to help clients shift from negative automatic thoughts to more accurate and positive thought patterns.
