Hi, my name is Tiffany Dunion and I am an LMFT. I have a curious, creative, and collaborative approach to therapy. My practice focuses on women's issues, relationship issues, and life transitions. I’ve wanted to be a therapist since I was 15 when I first began exploring mental health struggles and addiction. My interest in philosophy, psychology, sociology, and the arts has always shaped my perspective. My journey working through complex trauma, ADHD, and periods of depression gave me a firsthand understanding of the importance of a holistic approach to well-being. Through a blend of Western psychotherapy, Eastern healing practices, meditation, spirituality, and indigenous traditions, I found recovery. I’m passionate about the healing arts and believe there is no greater honor than being of service to others. My personal values of connection, compassion, love, and growth guide and inspire my work.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session, I’ll ask questions to get to know you as a person. While we’ll address the challenges in your life, I believe it's important to first focus on your strengths, interests, and personal values. I view the therapeutic relationship as essential for achieving lasting results. I’ll also explore your hopes for therapy, your goals, and what has or hasn’t worked for you in the past. My approach in the first session is more inquisitive and exploratory, rather than strictly assessment-oriented

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Prior to completing my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Alliant International University, my professional journey was enriched by diverse experiences. I initially served as an educator and mindfulness instructor for children, fostering a foundation of empathy and understanding. My holistic approach to healing extends from my exploration of various alternative practices. I am a certified 200-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) in traditional Hatha Yoga, and my time spent learning from and supporting indigenous healing traditions of the Yawanawa and Katukina communities has deeply influenced my perspective. With a background in dual diagnosis treatment, I have provided care for individuals grappling with addiction and concurrent mental health challenges such as eating disorders, depression, anxiety, trauma and mood disorders. My practice is rooted in a profound appreciation for elements such as, ecology, storytelling, introspection, creative expression, spirituality, and humor. These facets inform and enrich the therapeutic experience I offer.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

You have found yourself at a crossroads, grappling with transitions that leave you feeling overwhelmed, lost, and disconnected. Whether it’s changing careers, navigating a breakup, adjusting to single life after divorce, relocating, stepping into an unwanted role, aging, facing changes in your body, dealing with new social expectations, or confronting grief and loss, these experiences can stir a maelstrom of emotions—loss of identity, anxiety, and a sense of purposelessness. I support self-aware, creative, and intelligent individuals through complex and challenging life transitions. My practice encompasses teens, adults, and couples. With a background in dual diagnosis treatment, I have provided care for individuals grappling with addiction and concurrent mental health challenges such as eating disorders, depression, anxiety, trauma, and mood disorders.
