New to Grow
I have been in the mental health field for about 30 years in one capacity or another. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I come into my practice with education, professional and life experience. I love working with teenagers (15 and up) and all women but especially mid-life as I believe it comes with a sense of empowerment that can be tricky to navigate. I have a special placed in my heart and my practice for those struggling with grief issues. I also love exploring spirituality and alternative methods of enlightenment and healing with spirituality not religion.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
My philosophy is that my clients are in the forefront of their treatment and we will talk about whatever you are comfortable with. Some people like to ask questions, vent and dig right in or chat about more surface level issues to get a feel for our compatibility. It is your therapy and ultimately it has to be what you need.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I have experience in many different situations, so not much surprises me. I am respectfully direct. I may not always tell you want you want to hear, but I will be respectful and empathetic to your feelings and situations. I did not come into the mental health field because I am without issues. Everyone has issues, I have been able to come out on the other side, and I love helping others feel empowered to do the same. I am open minded and spiritual, not religious. And I can guarantee that at some point I will make you laugh.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My clients will be navigating changes in many aspects of life from beginning adulthood, hitting the empty nest mid -life stride or grieving the loss of a loved one. I am open to what you are open to. My clients will be open minded and want to look for healing outside of the box.
Eclectic
I feel that humans are all unique, so trapping myself into one modality would be unfair to my patients. I like to meet people where they are and maybe we will all learn something new.
