I view human beings through a lens of compassion, meaning, and balance. I believe that the ways we understand ourselves are shaped by our relationships, culture, and societal constructs, and that these influences play a significant role in how we make meaning of our experiences. At my core, I believe people are inherently capable of growth, even when pain, trauma, or circumstance have led them away from their values. I recognize the dualities that exist within life—the coexistence of light and darkness, suffering and healing, strength and vulnerability—and I believe that love serves as the canvas upon which our lives unfold. While experiences can cultivate resilience, wisdom, and character, they can also leave lasting wounds. For this reason, I value helping others move toward balance, self-understanding, and healing, believing that equilibrium is often the safest and most sustainable place from which to live and grow.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Clients can expect the first session to be welcomed with warmth and provided with initial conversation paced according to their comfort level (which I am skilled to assess). Beginning therapy (especially with someone new, if it isn't their first time in therapy) can feel vulnerable, so I prioritize creating a supportive safe environment where clients can share as much or as little as they feel ok to discuss. Rather than rushing into themes, I take a gentle and collaborative stance, focused on simply sharing this space together. My nervous system being regulated is able to connect to that of the client's and allow for regulation if clients feel anxious or uncomfortable. Togetherness is present during the session, and that will help us to walk this path slowly and assertively. Assessment is on going, and the first session is where the client will be made to feel comfortable in knowing that they have the agency to express feedback on the approach they feel most comfortable with. I believe that healing occurs within a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship, so I prioritize creating an environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. Together, we will bring about a journey that can lead to creating the shifts that clients are seeking therapy for. Safe Inviting Hopefull

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I believe that effective therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process. Every client brings a unique history, set of strengths, challenges, and goals, and I tailor treatment to meet each individual’s specific needs. My approach is flexible and responsive, adapting to where a client is in their healing journey. At times, this may mean providing space for reflection and allowing silence to facilitate insight and self-discovery. At other times, it may involve offering gentle feedback, challenging unhelpful patterns, or encouraging clients to consider new perspectives that support growth and change. I strive to balance empathy with honesty in responsibility, creating a therapeutic relationship that is both supportive and transformative. As a post modern therapist at heart, I believe that human experience, identity, and reality are constructed through language and dialogue, rather than being fixed biological truths, thus my approach feels more like a conversational partnership. Understanding and solutions are generated mutually through the communicative space created between me and the client, not through an expert delivering answers, and that is where clients can truly just be, and feel comfortable in the space they are in, and the therapist meets them right there.

My treatment methods

Trauma Informed Care

My approach is grounded in trauma-informed care, recognizing the impact that trauma can have on a person’s emotional, psychological, and relational functioning. I strive to create a safe, collaborative, and empowering therapeutic environment where clients feel heard, respected, and supported. I integrate psycho-education to help clients understand the effects of trauma and build insight into their experiences. Through narrative therapy, clients are encouraged to explore and re-author their personal stories in ways that promote healing and resilience. Drawing from person-centered therapy and collaborative language systems, I emphasize empathy, authenticity, and a partnership-based approach that honors clients as experts of their own lives. I also incorporate psychoanalytic concepts to explore underlying patterns, unconscious processes, and the influence of past experiences on present functioning. Throughout treatment, I utilize a strength-based perspective, helping clients identify and build upon their existing resources, capacities, and resilience to support meaningful growth and lasting change.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) within a trauma-informed framework to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and life experiences. CBT provides practical tools for identifying unhelpful thinking patterns, challenging cognitive distortions, and developing healthier coping strategies. Through a collaborative and supportive process, clients learn skills to manage symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress, and trauma-related concerns while building emotional regulation, self-awareness, and resilience. The goal is to empower clients to make meaningful changes that support their overall well-being and improve daily functioning.

Humanistic

My humanistic approach is rooted in the belief that each person possesses the capacity for growth, healing, and self-discovery. I provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental, and authentic therapeutic environment where clients can explore their experiences openly and develop a deeper understanding of themselves. By emphasizing empathy, acceptance, and genuine connection, I support clients in identifying their values, strengths, and personal goals. This approach encourages self-awareness, autonomy, and personal empowerment, helping clients cultivate meaningful change and live in greater alignment with their authentic selves.

Adlerian

My Adlerian approach focuses on understanding how early life experiences, family dynamics, and social relationships influence a person’s beliefs, behaviors, and sense of belonging. I work collaboratively with clients to explore patterns that may be contributing to current challenges while identifying strengths and opportunities for growth. Through encouragement, insight, and goal-oriented interventions, clients develop greater self-awareness, build confidence, and cultivate healthier ways of relating to themselves and others. This approach emphasizes personal responsibility, resilience, social connectedness, and the ability to create meaningful change.

Family Therapy

My family therapy approach recognizes that individuals are influenced by the relationships and systems in which they live. I work collaboratively with family members to improve communication, strengthen relationships, and identify patterns that may be contributing to conflict or distress. Through a supportive and nonjudgmental process, families develop greater understanding of one another’s experiences, learn healthier ways of interacting, and build on their existing strengths. The goal is to foster connection, enhance problem-solving skills, and create a more supportive and resilient family system.
