Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker & Licensed Clinical Alcohol & Drug Counselor in New Jersey. I received my Masters from Temple University & have been working in the field for over fifteen years. I work with adults with disordered eating, trauma, and/or substance use disorders to find recovery that works for you. I am certified in intuitive eating.
During our first session, we'll mostly talk about what brought you into therapy and what you're hoping to get out of it. I also like to understand past therapy experiences and what you've found helpful and unhelpful in previous therapy experiences. We don't need to do a deep dive on past trauma in session one if you don't want to -- I know it can be overwhelming to share nothing but the hardest times in your life in session number one.
My clients feel safe and comfortable with me. I create an environment where people feel comfortable share feedback and their challenges with me.
I identify as
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
ACT focuses on using mindfulness, acceptance, and connecting with your values to live a life that is rich and meaningful. I will work with you on developing mindfulness skills you can use in day to day life, understanding your motivation, and living with purpose.

I am so excited. I felt like I was talking with a friend but someone who can help and not judge.

I was really wary about my first session from prior experience but Jess is a great listener and her kindness and humor definitely helped my open up. Can't wait to talk again!
