Greetings. I am a dual board certified Psychiatric Mental Health and Family Nurse Practitioner. I have been in practice as a certified PMHNP 8 years. I have been a FNP since 2006. I completed my trainings in 2006 for FNP and in 2018 for PMHNP. I enjoy educating and working together with my patients on their journey of improving their mental health and overall well being, the best versions of themselves. I diagnose and offer treatments. I integrate coaching and various brief therapies in my treatment approach. I consider lifestyle to be an important piece in one's mental health, and this includes adequate nutrition and sleep. As necessary, I offer medication management. I make appropriate referrals to specialists as necessary. I offer 15 minute free consultations to determine whether we are a good fit to work together.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up visits/sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

It's important that my patients feel heard and feel their concerns have been addressed at each appointment. I encourage my patients to partner with me in their treatment.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I have experienced when patients want to get better, and are willing to do the work and be open to treatment recommendations, they improve and heal quicker.

My treatment methods

Psychoeducation

My clients get better understanding about recommended treatments when they are educated and provided with reasoning of proposed treatments. My parents are comfortable partnering with me in their care and in asking questions.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

My patients heal quicker when they have support to challenge their former attitudes, thoughts and beliefs about themselves and others.

Motivational Interviewing

I have found my patients are more involved in their when I explore both their perspective and readiness about improving their mental health.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have observed that when my patients are supported in learning to gain insight into their experiences they are better prepared to cope with stress and difficult feelings and emotions.
