(she/her)
Are you feeling bruised, confused, or stressed? Let's figure out what's going on and how to move forward as efficiently as possible. We may even find joy in the end... if not also in the process. My 10+ years of clinical work have brought many "hero's journey" partnerships. We often start with anxiety or depression/grief, or oscillations between these. There may be longing for more meaning or zest for life. Often, folks find themselves repeating the same patterns and feeling confused, frustrated, or ashamed. These patterns helped you to survive. I honor your instincts and aim to help re-pattern into lasting peace and love for life. Together, we will identify your unique needs, goals, tools, and resources. I integrate approaches from CBT, ego state/parts, and mindfulness/somatic. I am trained in EMDR to help rebuild a sense of safety, trust, self-worth, and empowerment. When we learn to shine light on small "wins" and anchor into these, the world feels much kinder and more enlivening. My approach is collaborative and transparent. Creativity is welcomed. Many ways to learn here in Earth school. About me: I enjoy observing nature, spending time with friends/partner/cat, collecting rocks, reading good books, meditating, exercising.
In a first session, I will ask you some questions about what brings you here and what you want to work on. I will invite you to bring your questions, as well. After each session, you should leave with a sense of greater ease, hope, comfort, connection, insight, and/or direction. Sometimes we will come up with a homework exercise for practice or self-reflection.
My approach is collaborative; we co-create each session. You are the expert of your life. I have tools, you have tools; let's bring them together and find what works for you.

I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have been incorporating CBT into work with clients since grad school a decade ago. I tend toward a more conversational, less formal style. Worksheets as folks wish (or not!).
Daialectical Behavior (DBT)
I incorporate DBT skills but refer out for clients needing a bona fide "DBT therapist" or adjunct DBT group therapy.
EMDR
I *love* EMDR. Usually we can't just "figure out" or "talk about" trauma and expect the type of results we can get in EMDR. For healing that is true and lasting, it usually has to be "felt out" by the whole brain working in concert. Usually we do combine EMDR with "talk therapy" so we can keep the therapeutic relationship solid and best integrate what was learned along the way.
