First session
In your first session with me, you can expect a thorough, confidential intake and assessment that covers current symptoms, psychiatric and medical history, medications, substance use, social and family background, and any safety concerns (including suicide or self-harm). I will ask detailed questions to understand functioning and goals, perform a mental status exam, review or reconcile medications, and provide initial psychoeducation about possible diagnoses and treatment options. Together we’ll discuss immediate priorities, possible next steps (therapy, medication trials, labs, or referrals), expected timelines for follow-up, and opportunities to ask questions—establishing a collaborative plan tailored to the your needs. I am here to build that partnership with you to achieve your treatment goals.
Strengths
My strength as a PMHNP is my integrated blend of advanced psychiatric knowledge and nursing-centered, patient-focused care: I combine expert diagnostic and medication-management skills with strong therapeutic communication, holistic assessment, and advocacy for the whole person. This allows me to tailor evidence-based treatments to individual needs, build trusting relationships that improve engagement and adherence, coordinate care across medical and behavioral health systems, and address psychosocial factors alongside clinical symptoms—resulting in comprehensive, compassionate care that supports recovery and long-term wellness.
