My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

My experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is that, is a widely recognized and evidence-based psychotherapeutic approach used to treat a variety of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, and many others. I have used CBT in my practice as primary or adjunctive therapy. I tailored CBT to the specific needs and goals of the patient. I use CBT with patients to identify and challenge negative thought patterns, helping them reframe their thoughts in a more balanced and constructive way.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

My experience with culturally sensitive therapy involves tailoring treatment plans to align with the patient's cultural values and preferences. This might mean incorporating traditional healing practices or adapting treatment modalities to be culturally relevant to the client with the consent of the client.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

My experience with patient-centered care is recognizes that each patient is unique, and their treatment should be tailored to their individual needs and goals. As a PMHNP, I have use and believe in a patient-centered approach. I would discuss the diagnosis and potential treatment options with the patient, encouraging them to share their treatment preferences and goals. Together, we would set realistic and achievable treatment goals.

Psychoeducation

I use psychoeducation when I prescribed medication. I provide information about the purpose, dosage, potential side effects, and the importance of adhering to the prescribed regimen.
