Do you ever feel overwhelmed and struggle to cope with grief, sadness, depression, anxiety, etc.? I can help you navigate these feelings and offer suggestions to move forward toward hope to improve various life challenges. I focus on teens and adults using CBT, DBT, EMDR and other models to support clients in navigating their feelings to improve various life challenges. I utilize a person-centered approach to support you in finding your solution and meeting your goals. I earned my Master of Social Work degree from Indiana University in 2018. I've worked in many different settings doing individual, group and family therapy. I have worked with individuals from teenagers to older adults who have experienced personal issues including, individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities, depression, anxiety, addictions, trauma, abuse, grief, dependency, and many more. I earned a Master's in Business Administration in 2009 from Virginia College. In 2005, I strengthened my knowledge base in the medical field by receiving training and certification as a medical assistant. Lastly, I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Wright State University in 2001. I would be privileged to help and support you in finding a solution by looking through a different lens. In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During the intake appointment, I will provide an easy to understand explanation of the process. Clients will be entering a safe, non-judgmental space to express your thoughts and feelings openly. We will be working together as a team to explore strategies and techniques to help you meet your goals.

The treatment methods and tools I utilize

I am passionate about making a difference in people's lives. I am an EMDRIA trained therapist. I utilize person centered clinical approaches with experience in a variety of practice modalities, including cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI), eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR) and crisis intervention.

I have over 20+ years' experience in supporting and serving individuals and families in the medical and social service field combined. Clients have shared that I am warm, compassionate and demonstrate patience. I am empathetic and have a sense of humor. It is important for me to meet clients where they are, especially when learning essential skills to meet their needs. I am also passionate about empowering clients by building on their strengths, as they learn new coping skills, grounding techniques and healthy communication skills.
