LPC, 35 years of experience
New to Grow
After over 30 years of serving co-occurring clients in a residential setting, I am transitioning to the world of virtual therapy. I am a nationally known subject matter expert on adolescent, young adult, family systems and male executive issues. I am also adept at crisis management and helping families in conflict. My ability to marry the languages of psychiatry, psychology, and substance use disorder treatment will allow me the versatility to assist many families in need.
We’ll start with a brief history and assessment, getting to know the most pressing issues, which will allow us to build a treatment plan based on your (and your family’s) hierarchy of needs.
My sense of humor, experience, fearless embrace of the family system, and versatility are strengths. For the co-occurring client and family, it will be difficult to find a clinician more versed than me in the various languages of recovery.
My clients should be adolescents and young adults with co-occurring disorders and families in crises. They should be male executives dealing with addiction, mental health issues and narcissism. Also, male clients seeking an experienced, sophisticated, licensed, clinician who is also in personal, long-term recovery from alcohol and drugs.
Solid treatment of co-occurring substance use disorder and mental health treatment requires addressing, intervening on, and treating the family system. Treating only one ‘identified client’ and leaving the rest of the family out of the therapy process will lead to poor outcomes. In a dynamic, family systems approach, all members of the family system will be encouraged to engage in the therapeutic process….as well as to implement their own necessary emotional/behavioral changes.
