My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a method of psychological treatment that has been proven to be effective for a variety of problems, including anxiety disorders, depression, alcohol and drug use problems, eating disorders, and severe mental illness, which is why it is my preferred treatment method. I collaboratively use CBT strategies with my clients to understand the problem and develop a treatment strategy. Using CBT, I emphasize helping my clients learn to be their therapists. That is, through in-session exercises and “homework” exercises outside of sessions, I empower my patients to develop coping skills. I emphasize coping skills and positive thinking during my sessions so my patients can learn to change their own thinking, problematic emotions, and behavior.
