My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

In my experience, incorporating a client’s spiritual beliefs into the therapeutic process can be a powerful tool for resilience and healing. I have seen how individuals are often better able to cope with life and social stressors when they are encouraged to lean into their spiritual practices and values. For many, spirituality provides a sense of purpose, community, and comfort during times of uncertainty or hardship. In my practice, I invite clients to explore how their spiritual beliefs can support their mental and emotional well-being. This may involve integrating spiritual practices such as prayer, meditation, mindfulness, or faith-based community involvement, depending on the client's preferences. I approach this from a client-centered and culturally sensitive perspective, ensuring that their values guide the process. By respecting and incorporating each person’s unique spiritual worldview, I help them build coping strategies that feel authentic and empowering.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts, develop healthier thinking patterns, and build effective coping skills. CBT has been especially helpful in treating anxiety, depression, and stress-related issues. I tailor interventions like thought records, behavioral activation, and problem-solving strategies to each client’s needs, helping them gain insight and build resilience.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients build skills in emotion regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness. DBT has been especially effective for clients dealing with intense emotions, relationship issues, or self-harming behaviors. I incorporate DBT tools to support clients in managing emotions while creating space for acceptance and change.

Strength-Based

I use a strengths-based approach to help clients recognize and build on their existing abilities, values, and resources. This method empowers clients by focusing on what’s working well rather than just their challenges. I support clients in identifying their inner strengths to foster resilience, boost confidence, and promote positive change.
