Hello there! Do you ever feel as though there is much on your mind but no one to share it with? Like no one will understand what it is that you have to say? Are your thoughts and feelings leading to you feeling alone, depressed, or anxious? Or perhaps you've experienced trauma in your life and it is not resolved? Let me be the one to listen, support, and assist you in your journey. My name is Amanda Lewis, LMFT and I have 6 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I have experience working with depression, anxiety, anger, ADHD, PTSD, ODD, job stress, relationship and communication issues, as well as woman's issues. You'll find that in therapy, I use a warm, non-judgmental, empathetic approach- with a dash of humor every now and again- so that you feel safe and comfortable while allowing me to provide not only support, but skills to assist you in healing and finding a new hope in your life- whether it is work, school, family, or relationships.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing and your history. I will ask you what it is that you would like to work on in therapy and use the information that I had gathered to help us create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
Proving a safe, nonjudgmental space with empathy and compassion are my biggest strengths as a provider. I feel that working in an array of populations has led to my developing an understanding of others as well as having training in TF-CBT, areas of cultural competency, and viewing things openly and with a curious mind.
I love working with adults. My clients may often feel stuck, overwhelmed , anxious, or lonely. My clients are eager to improve, but don't yet have the tools needed to make this goal a reality.
I have extensive experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in both my personal development and professional practice. CBT has been instrumental in helping clients identify and reframe their negative thought patterns that contribute to their anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. In my practice, I use CBT techniques such as cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, and thought journals to empower clients to challenge distorted thinking patterns and adopt healthier perspectives. This evidence-based approach has been effective in assisting clients in managing symptoms, improving coping strategies, and achieving their therapeutic goals.
