New to Grow
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner in Virginia. I received my Masters degree from the College of William and Mary and have been practicing for 22 years. I work with teens and adults navigating stress, anxiety or depression, life stage and relationship challenges, life transitions, substance abuse/addictive disorders or simply feeling stuck and needing support.
In our first session, we will discuss what to expect in therapy and answer any questions you may have. Then, we will explore the challenges you are facing and what you hope to gain from our time together.
My priority is to create a space where you feel genuinely heard, supported and understood-without judgment. My approach blends evidence-based techniques with compassion and curiosity.
My ideal client is an adult who may be feeling stuck, but are open to learning strategies to improve their mental well-being. They value a collaborative approach, wants practical tools to manage their symptoms, change unhelpful thinking patterns and build healthier coping mechanisms.
As a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) counselor, I am dedicated to helping individuals understand and overcome the patterns of thinking and behavior that may be holding them back. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and goal-focused. I work with clients to identify unhelpful thoughts, challenge limiting beliefs, and develop practical strategies for positive change. With a strong foundation in evidence-based techniques, I support clients in building resilience, managing stress and anxiety, improving mood, and fostering healthier relationships. My aim is to empower each person to gain insight, achieve lasting growth, and live a more fulfilling life.
As a Motivational Interviewing (MI) counselor, my approach is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and respect for your autonomy. I work alongside you to explore your motivations, uncover ambivalence, and help you tap into your inner strengths to make meaningful changes in your life. Whether you're facing challenges related to addiction, behavioral change, or personal growth, I use a non-judgmental, client-centered approach to guide you through the process of self-discovery and change. Together, we explore your values and goals, identify barriers, and develop actionable steps toward achieving the life you envision. My goal is to support you in finding your own reasons for change, fostering a sense of confidence and empowerment along the way.
