Hello, I’m Kimberley Bell, a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and trauma-informed therapist passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges with compassion, support, and practical tools for healing and growth. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, emotional stress, life transitions, and recovery from unhealthy or narcissistic relationships. My approach is warm, supportive, and collaborative, integrating evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), trauma-informed care, and faith-informed counseling when desired. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, empowered, and supported as they work toward healing, emotional balance, healthier relationships, and personal growth.

Stepping into counseling is a second career for me. Before this work, I spent many years as an accountant, but I found myself wanting deeper, more meaningful connection with people. That desire to sit with others in their real, human experiences is what led me to become a counselor. I’ve personally navigated many of the same challenges that bring people into therapy. This doesn’t make me an expert in anyone else’s life—it simply means I understand, on a human level, how vulnerable it can feel to open up, and how much courage it takes to work toward change. I believe change is a gradual process, and each person moves at the pace and in the way that fits them best. My role is to offer empathy, support, and a space where your experiences are met with respect and understanding.

I have 10 years of experience helping men and women in the prison system. I'm currently licensed in Wyoming, Washington state, and Michigan and am certified in accelerated resolution therapy (ART) and trained in EMDR. I am LGBTQI+ and kink friendly. I am a certified clinical trauma professional. I like working with clients who may be dealing with trauma, especially PTSD, regardless of the cause because A.R.T. is so powerful. A.R.T. is especially helpful for veterans and first responders.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
