New to Grow
Stepping into counseling is a second career for me. Before this work, I spent many years as an accountant, but I found myself wanting deeper, more meaningful connection with people. That desire to sit with others in their real, human experiences is what led me to become a counselor. I’ve personally navigated many of the same challenges that bring people into therapy. This doesn’t make me an expert in anyone else’s life—it simply means I understand, on a human level, how vulnerable it can feel to open up, and how much courage it takes to work toward change. I believe change is a gradual process, and each person moves at the pace and in the way that fits them best. My role is to offer empathy, support, and a space where your experiences are met with respect and understanding.
The first session is our chance to get to know each other and begin shaping the goals that matter to you. You’re welcome to show up exactly as you are. If you cry, that’s okay. If you don’t, that’s okay too. There is no “right” way to be here. Counseling is about you, not about me. My role in that first session is to hold space for you—space where you can be as open, guarded, raw, or uncertain as you feel able to be. We move at your pace, in the way that feels most supportive for you.
I have been told my greatest strength is acceptance. Acceptance without judgment or expectations.
