Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During the first session, we will spend time getting to know one another and discussing the concerns, challenges, and goals that brought you to therapy. The initial appointment is typically an intake and history-gathering session where I will ask questions about your emotional well-being, current stressors, relationships, personal history, coping patterns, and any symptoms or experiences you would like support addressing. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable sharing at your own pace. We will also discuss your therapy goals, strengths, and what you hope to gain from the counseling process. I will answer any questions you may have about therapy, confidentiality, treatment approaches, or the therapeutic process so you feel informed and supported moving forward. Depending on your needs, we may begin exploring coping strategies, emotional regulation tools, or initial therapeutic interventions during the first session. My approach is collaborative and individualized, and treatment may incorporate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), trauma-informed care, psychoeducation, and supportive counseling tailored to your goals and comfort level.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a compassionate, supportive, and emotionally safe environment where clients feel genuinely heard, understood, and respected. I strive to build strong therapeutic relationships grounded in trust, empathy, and collaboration while helping clients feel empowered throughout the healing process. My approach is trauma-informed, individualized, and practical, allowing treatment to be tailored to each client’s unique experiences, strengths, and goals. I integrate evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), psychoeducation, emotional regulation strategies, mindfulness techniques, and supportive relational interventions to help clients develop insight, healthier coping skills, and lasting behavioral change. I have extensive experience working with trauma, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, relationship difficulties, narcissistic abuse recovery, and life transitions. Clients often appreciate my warm, down-to-earth approach, my ability to balance emotional support with practical skill-building, and my focus on helping individuals move beyond survival patterns toward greater confidence, emotional resilience, and healthier relationships. I also value treating the whole person by recognizing the connection between emotional, relational, behavioral, and, when desired, spiritual well-being. My goal is not only to help clients reduce symptoms but also to support meaningful personal growth, increased self-awareness, improved emotional balance, and long-term healing.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to support children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families who are seeking compassionate, trauma-informed care and practical strategies to improve emotional well-being, relationships, and overall functioning. Many of the clients I work with are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, emotional dysregulation, life transitions, relationship difficulties, stress, behavioral concerns, low self-esteem, or challenges related to past experiences and unresolved emotional pain. I have extensive experience working with survivors of trauma and narcissistic abuse, individuals struggling with unhealthy relationship patterns, clients experiencing chronic stress or burnout, and those seeking to rebuild confidence, emotional safety, and personal identity. I also work well with clients who feel overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, highly self-critical, or unsure how to move forward in life or relationships. My approach is especially beneficial for clients who value a supportive, collaborative, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment while also wanting practical coping skills, emotional insight, and meaningful personal growth. I work with clients who are motivated for change, even if they feel uncertain where to begin, and I strive to help individuals develop healthier thought patterns, emotional regulation skills, communication abilities, and resilience. In addition to individual therapy, I work with couples and families seeking to improve communication, strengthen relationships, navigate conflict, rebuild trust, and create healthier relational dynamics. I also offer faith-informed counseling for clients who wish to incorporate Christian values and spirituality into the therapeutic process as part of their healing journey. My therapeutic style integrates evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), trauma-informed care, psychoeducation, emotional regulation strategies, mindfulness techniques, and supportive relational interventions tailored to the unique needs of each client.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a primary therapeutic approach in my clinical practice to help clients identify and change unhelpful thought patterns, emotional responses, and behaviors that contribute to psychological distress. I have experience incorporating CBT interventions with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families across a wide range of presenting concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, adjustment difficulties, emotional dysregulation, self-esteem concerns, stress management, behavioral challenges, and relationship issues. My approach to CBT is individualized, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I assist clients in recognizing cognitive distortions, increasing emotional awareness, developing healthier coping skills, improving problem-solving abilities, and strengthening emotional regulation. I frequently integrate CBT with other evidence-based modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), psychoeducation, mindfulness techniques, grounding strategies, HeartMath coherence exercises, play therapy interventions, and behavioral skill-building based on the unique needs of each client. Within my work with children and adolescents, I utilize developmentally appropriate CBT interventions, including play-based activities, art interventions, emotional identification exercises, behavioral reinforcement strategies, and coping-skills training. With adults, CBT is often used to address maladaptive beliefs, trauma responses, anxiety patterns, relational stress, and negative self-perception while supporting healthier decision-making and emotional resilience. As a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, I have extensive experience applying CBT in both in-person and telehealth settings across diverse populations and clinical environments. My therapeutic style emphasizes empathy, practical skill development, accountability, and creating a safe, supportive environment where clients can build insight and lasting behavioral change.

EMDR

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and utilize EMDR-informed interventions within my clinical practice to support clients experiencing trauma-related symptoms, anxiety, distressing life experiences, negative self-beliefs, emotional dysregulation, and difficulties related to past experiences. I incorporate EMDR techniques to assist clients in processing unresolved memories, reducing emotional distress, strengthening adaptive coping skills, and improving overall emotional functioning. My experience includes working with individuals impacted by trauma, relational abuse, narcissistic abuse recovery, anxiety disorders, stress-related concerns, and adverse childhood experiences. EMDR interventions are integrated within a trauma-informed and client-centered treatment approach while maintaining emotional safety, stabilization, grounding, and preparation throughout the therapeutic process. I frequently combine EMDR with other evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychoeducation, mindfulness, emotional regulation strategies, and supportive therapy interventions to meet the individualized needs of each client. My clinical approach emphasizes establishing safety, building coping resources, and supporting clients in developing healthier beliefs, increased resilience, and improved emotional regulation. I have experience providing EMDR-informed care in outpatient mental health settings with children, adolescents, adults, and trauma survivors through both in-person and telehealth services.

Christian Counseling

I offer faith-informed counseling services for clients who desire integration of Christian values and spirituality into the therapeutic process. My approach to Christian counseling is compassionate, respectful, and client-centered, allowing individuals to explore emotional healing, personal growth, and life challenges through both evidence-based therapeutic interventions and faith-based support when requested by the client. I incorporate Christian counseling principles alongside evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), psychoeducation, mindfulness, emotional regulation strategies, and trauma-informed care. Therapeutic work may include addressing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, self-worth concerns, forgiveness, identity, boundary-setting, and recovery from narcissistic abuse while incorporating biblical principles, scripture, prayer, and faith-based encouragement as appropriate to the client’s preferences and comfort level. My goal is to provide a supportive and emotionally safe environment where clients can strengthen both emotional wellness and spiritual well-being while respecting each individual’s personal beliefs, values, and faith journey. I work collaboratively with clients to support healing, resilience, hope, and personal growth through an integrative and compassionate counseling approach.

Family Therapy

I provide Family Therapy services to support families experiencing relational difficulties, communication challenges, behavioral concerns, parenting stress, emotional conflict, adjustment issues, and trauma-related concerns. My approach to family therapy is collaborative, supportive, and trauma-informed, with focus placed on strengthening family relationships, improving communication patterns, increasing emotional understanding, and promoting healthier family functioning. I work with families to identify patterns that may contribute to conflict, emotional disconnection, behavioral struggles, or stress within the home environment. Treatment often includes improving problem-solving skills, strengthening healthy boundaries, increasing emotional regulation, enhancing parent-child relationships, and developing more effective communication strategies. I frequently provide psychoeducation to help families better understand behavioral health concerns, emotional responses, trauma reactions, and developmental needs. My therapeutic approach integrates evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed interventions, play therapy techniques, emotional regulation strategies, parenting support, and solution-focused interventions tailored to the unique needs of each family system. I have experience working with children, adolescents, parents, blended families, and families navigating stress related to trauma, divorce, behavioral challenges, anxiety, depression, school concerns, and life transitions. I strive to create a safe, respectful, and supportive therapeutic environment where family members feel heard, understood, and empowered to work together toward healthier relationships and improved emotional well-being.

Couples Counseling

I provide Couples Therapy services to support couples experiencing communication difficulties, relational conflict, emotional disconnection, trust concerns, life transitions, stress-related challenges, and difficulties rebuilding connection within the relationship. My approach to couples counseling is supportive, collaborative, and trauma-informed, with emphasis placed on improving communication, strengthening emotional understanding, rebuilding trust, and fostering healthier relationship dynamics. I work with couples to identify patterns that contribute to conflict, misunderstandings, emotional distance, or recurring relational difficulties. Treatment focuses on helping partners develop healthier communication skills, improve conflict resolution, increase emotional regulation, establish healthy boundaries, and strengthen emotional intimacy and connection. Couples counseling may also address concerns related to anxiety, past trauma, infidelity, parenting stress, blended family dynamics, military-related stressors, and adjustment difficulties impacting the relationship. My therapeutic approach integrates evidence-based interventions including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, psychoeducation, emotional regulation strategies, and supportive relational interventions tailored to the unique needs and goals of each couple. I strive to create a safe, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where both individuals feel heard, supported, and empowered to work toward healthier patterns of interaction and improved relational functioning.
