(she/her)
I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with over a decade of experience. My approach is Rogerian, which means I believe the therapeutic relationship itself is what heals. I don't hand out advice or tell you what to do. I show up, I listen, and I trust that you already have what you need inside you. I grew up in Wyoming and have spent most of my life in the Mountain West. I've worked with people navigating addiction, trauma, grief, military life, and just about everything in between. I'm not fancy and I don't pretend to be. If you're looking for someone real who will meet you where you are, we might be a good fit.
Our first session will cover some necessary paperwork including informed consent and professional disclosure, so you'll know exactly what to expect from therapy and from me. From there we'll move into getting to know you, including some background about your life, health, and what brings you in. It's more of a conversation than an interview. Come as you are.
I don't try to fix people. I've never believed that was my job. What I do well is show up consistently, tell the truth, and create enough safety that clients can start to do the same. I've been doing this long enough to know that the relationship is the work, not a vehicle for the work. I'm also not easily rattled. I've sat with a lot of hard things.
I work best with adults who appear high-functioning but feel overwhelmed, stuck, or exhausted underneath. Many are navigating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, or recovery and are tired of coping strategies that only scratch the surface. They often have insight into their patterns but struggle to translate that awareness into meaningful, lasting change. My clients tend to be thoughtful, self-aware, and motivated, even if they feel discouraged or burned out. Some have been in therapy before and felt unseen or like they were going through the motions. Others are newer to therapy but ready to engage honestly and do deeper work. They are not looking for quick fixes or surface-level advice. They want to understand themselves, shift long-standing patterns, and build a more sustainable way of living. I am a strong fit for clients who value a grounded, collaborative approach that integrates emotional insight, nervous system awareness, and practical change. This includes people working through complex family dynamics, identity questions, life transitions, or the long-term effects of stress and trauma. My approach is direct, compassionate, and focused on helping clients move forward without shame or unnecessary pathologizing.
Strength-Based
I start with what's already working. Everyone comes in with more resources than they realize, and part of my job is helping people see and build on what they already have rather than focusing only on what's broken.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
This is the foundation of everything I do. I believe the relationship between therapist and client is what creates change, not techniques or homework assignments. I follow your lead, trust your process, and offer unconditional positive regard. You're the expert on your own life.
Motivational Interviewing
I use MI to help clients explore ambivalence and find their own reasons for change. I'm not here to convince you of anything. I'm here to help you get clear on what you actually want and what might be getting in the way.
