I am Shanae Hudson, a licensed clinical social worker and the owner of Growth Explored, LLC. I work with adults who are navigating trauma, relationship challenges, identity shifts, and periods of transition that leave them feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck despite their efforts to move forward. My approach to therapy is integrative and body-informed. I draw from somatic, attachment-based, relational, narrative, and polyvagal-informed frameworks to help clients understand how past experiences shape present-day patterns. Together, we explore how stress, trauma, and relational wounds show up in the nervous system, in relationships, and in the stories you carry about yourself. Therapy is not about fixing what is broken, but about increasing awareness, choice, and compassion for the parts of you that learned to survive. I specialize in working with individuals who have a history of emotional neglect, relational trauma, or long-term stress and who may struggle with boundaries, emotional regulation, people pleasing, or disconnection from their body. Many of my clients are thoughtful, high-functioning, and deeply self-reflective, yet find themselves exhausted by carrying too much alone. In our work together, I offer a steady, collaborative space that moves at a pace aligned with your capacity. We focus on building internal resources, strengthening nervous system regulation, and developing practical tools that support sustainable change. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, connected, and empowered in your life, relationships, and sense of self, so that therapy becomes a supportive chapter rather than a permanent dependency.

I'm a social worker by trade with over 25 years of experience in a lot of different areas. I have a breadth of experience that allows me to be very flexible so I can move where the person I am working with is at. I like to make people comfortable first. I know therapy is challenging and I recognize that it can be hard to open up to a stranger about things. Professionally I do individual and couples therapy, and have a many years working with veterans/military, people who had a TBI, mental health, substance abuse, and more. I provide a very open and non-judgmental space, and am here to listen. I want someone to feel heard and seen, and to know that I am here for them, and here to help them.

Hi, I’m so glad you’re here. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW/LISW-CP) based in North and South Carolina. I earned my Master’s from Simmons University and have been practicing for the past 8 years. Reaching out for support takes a lot of courage and curiosity—and I want to acknowledge that just by being here, you’re already taking an important step. Life has a way of creating all kinds of transitions. Some can feel like waves of excitement and full of growth and opportunity, while others feel overwhelming, unclear, scary, or just plain hard. I work with people navigating many types of life changes, including (and not limited to): grief and loss, caregiving burnout, medical diagnoses, changes in independence, identity exploration, retirement, separation or divorce And with those changes often come things like anxiety, depression, loneliness, or feeling disconnected from yourself. My approach is holistic, somatic informed, and person-centered. That means we’ll focus on your strengths, your body and mind, your story, and what matters most to you as we work together to bring more balance, purpose, and joy into your life. You don’t have to go through it alone. I’m here to support you.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist with over 18 years of experience in mental health and addiction counseling field. I am licensed in South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Utah, and Maine. My career has included extensive work with Veterans, Active Duty personnel, and federal employees, providing trauma informed care. I have a background in women's health issues, POTS, EDS / hEDS, MCAS, MCTD, RA, Lupus, perimenopause, and other autoimmune and chronic illnesses that need therapy supports. I specialize in ADHD and supporting neurodivergent adults, LGBTQIA+ individuals, mental health issues due to chronic pain and medical trauma, trauma survivors, addiction, burnout, anxiety, women’s issues, and major life transitions. My approach is nonjudgmental and trauma informed, meeting clients where they are with curiosity and compassion while creating a space for authentic growth and understanding. I value appropriate self disclosure when it supports the therapeutic process and use my training and lived experience to help clients develop tools that genuinely serve them. My work draws from an eclectic foundation that includes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, and Somatic approaches. I also integrate alternative and mind body methods that expand healing beyond traditional talk therapy, supporting both emotional and physiological well-being. I practice from an intersectional perspective, recognizing that our identities—race, gender, sexuality, neurotype, ability, culture, and lived experience intersect to shape how we move through the world and how the world responds to us. Healing requires honoring all of those parts. I believe neurodivergence is not something to be fixed, but understood, supported, and celebrated. Therapy is a space to learn your brain, not fight against it, to understand how it works, identify what it needs, and build systems of support that honor your authentic wiring.

I am Casey, a queer-affirming therapist who is also part of the queer community. I specialize in working with people who are non-conforming regarding sexuality, lifestyle, relationships, gender, religion and many other ways. I want to create a safe and nonjudgmental space for people to explore thoughts, questions, issues, and feelings they are dealing with each day. I have helped many individuals use body awareness to understand emotions and mood and learn how to manage their impacts on daily life. I use an integrated approach that teaches Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Social rhythm therapy, mindfulness, and Solution Focused techniques. I have a lot of experience working with people to manage issues related to grief and loss, life adjustments, Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, and managing stress and crises. I know there are many ways that people express themselves and their emotions and not everything works for everyone. I bring a creative mindset to sessions to help problem solve the presenting issue.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by state rather than a city?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across the entire state. If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near your address.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What happens during the first therapy session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
