Maham Mansoor
I am a first generation American Muslim woman. Growing up in the western society, I gained insight and growth into my Muslim American identity. Married with two children, I enjoy the different parts of my life that shaped me to be who I am now. I would be best fit for individuals experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use, criminal backgrounds, low self-esteem, and major life transitions. I integrate EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and trauma-informed care to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we'll identify patterns that no longer serve you, process difficult experiences, and build practical skills that support lasting change.
First session
Our first session is focused on what is bringing you to therapy. This include your current challenges and what you hope will be different in your life. I'll also ask about your personal history, relationships, strengths, and any previous therapy experiences to better understand the full picture. This is also your opportunity to ask questions and decide whether I feel like the right fit for you.
Strengths
I am a collaborative therapist so I do not simply give advice. I'll work alongside you to help increase insight, build you up as you process difficult experiences, and strengthen your confidence in navigating life's challenge. You lead the pace and I spot you in the process.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is open to change, eager to understand themselves, and shows curiosity about their thought process. Unfortunately far too often clients struggle with recognizing their past traumas impact on their current lifestyle. Clients who are willing to trust the process will benefit most from my treatment. Parent-child dynamics, work/life balance, trauma processing, drug addiction are more common issues presenting in my clients
