(She/Her)
I’m Meredith, a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner. Whether you’re seeking care for the first time or returning after prior experiences, my goal is to meet you where you are. With 20 years of experience in healthcare—including work in pediatric, forensic, and acute psychiatric settings—I now focus exclusively on adult care. I provide personalized medication management and supportive therapy, grounded in attentive listening, authentic connection, and an approach that reflects your goals, needs, and lived experience.
During your first session, we’ll take time to understand your current concerns, your history, and what led you to seek care. We’ll also review what has or hasn’t been helpful in the past, including any prior treatment experiences. Sometimes it takes more than one session to develop a full understanding and determine the best approach. If medication is indicated, we’ll review options together and choose a plan that is thoughtful, safe, and aligned with your goals. You’ll have space to ask questions and share what matters most to you as we work collaboratively to develop a plan that feels right. *At this time, I do not prescribe stimulant medications for ADHD. I do offer comprehensive evaluation and non-stimulant treatment options when appropriate.
I bring a comprehensive, thoughtful approach to psychiatric care—grounded and shaped by experience across diverse clinical settings. My background in emergency medicine and academic environments has influenced how I understand mental health: not simply as a diagnosis, but as something shaped by biology, environment, and lived experience. I strive to create a space where you feel heard and supported. My approach is collaborative and evidence-based, with a focus on helping you make informed decisions that align with your values and goals.
Finding the Right Fit Who do you work best with? I work with adults (18+) seeking thoughtful, evidence-based psychiatric care for anxiety, depression, mood concerns, trauma-related symptoms, and ADHD. This practice is well suited for individuals who value a collaborative, individualized approach and are interested in developing a treatment plan that supports long-term stability and day-to-day functioning. Is this the right fit for your needs? If your primary goal is to obtain a stimulant prescription for ADHD or to complete brief, documentation-based evaluations, another provider may be a better match for your needs. What is your approach to care? My approach is collaborative and grounded in clinical best practices. I take time to understand your full history and current concerns so we can develop a treatment plan that is intentional, practical, and aligned with your goals. What conditions do you treat? I treat a range of psychiatric concerns, including anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, mood instability, trauma-related symptoms, ADHD, and sleep-related concerns. What medications do you prescribe? Medication recommendations are individualized based on clinical need. This may include non-controlled medications as well as certain controlled medications when appropriate, with careful assessment and ongoing monitoring. Do you prescribe stimulant medications? I do not prescribe stimulant medications for ADHD (e.g., Adderall, Vyvanse, Ritalin). If stimulant treatment is what you are specifically seeking, this may not be the right setting for your care. What services are not provided? This practice is focused on psychiatric evaluation and medication management and does not complete documentation or evaluations for disability, FMLA, legal matters, emotional support animals (ESA), or other administrative or clearance-related requests. How does telehealth work? We begin with a comprehensive, psychiatric evaluation, followed by regular follow-up visits to assess progress, make adjustments, and support your ongoing care.
Other specialties
I identify as
Integrative
I use an integrative therapeutic approach that combines evidence-based psychiatric care with a personalized understanding of each individual’s unique needs, background, and goals. This style allows me to draw from multiple framework like psychopharmacology, cognitive and behavioral strategies, mindfulness, developmental insight, and trauma-informed care—tailoring treatment to support the whole person rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all model.
Psychoeducation
Psychoeducation is a core part of how I work with clients and families. I believe that understanding what’s happening—whether it is the symptoms you are experiencing, previous diagnoses, brain development, or how a medication works—can reduce uncertainty, empower decision-making, and build trust in the treatment process. I incorporate psychoeducation throughout our work together, offering information in clear accessible ways that are tailored to the client’s age, communication style, and readiness to engage.
Supportive
Supportive therapy is a foundational part of my work with clients. It offers a consistent, nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported—especially during times of emotional stress or transition. Together, we focus on building trust, strengthening coping skills, and reinforcing your sense of agency and resilience.

I chose to make an appointment with Meredith McCoy because of her summary, and commitment to working with the patient to find solutions that work and have lasting outcomes. For the first time in almost half my life, I have hope, and I feel empowered to keep going in therapy. Meredith McCoy is warm, incredibly knowledgeable, responsive, and supportive. I strongly recommend this provider if you're looking to make positive changes in your mental health.

Her approach was the best experience I've ever had in my life. Out of all the psychiatrist, therapist, etc. She was very thoughtful, empathetic and understanding. She offered me great tools to put the use in my daily life. She helped me so much, I'm very grateful for all of her help. Best treatment I've ever had!
