I'm Meredith McCoy, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner providing telehealth-based care for adults (18+). With nearly 20 years of experience in healthcare—including work in pediatric, forensic, and acute psychiatric settings—I now focus exclusively on adult care. I offer personalized medication management and supportive therapy, grounded in empathetic listening, authentic connection, and treatment plans that reflect each client’s unique goals, needs, and lived experience.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session, we’ll take time to understand your current concerns, personal history, and what led you to seek care. We’ll also talk about what has been helpful or unhelpful in the past, including any previous treatment experiences. Sometimes it takes more than one session to gather a full understanding and decide on the best approach. If medication is recommended, we’ll review options together and choose a plan that feels safe, thoughtful, and aligned with your goals. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions, share what’s most important to you, and together we’ll create a plan that feels right for you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

With nearly 20 years in healthcare, I bring a whole-person approach to psychiatric care—thoughtful, grounded, and informed by sound medical knowledge. My background in emergency medicine, forensic psychiatry, and academic settings has shaped how I think about mental health: not just as a diagnosis, but as something deeply influenced by your body, history, environment, and lived experience. I strive to create a space where you feel truly heard and supported. My approach is collaborative and evidence-based, with a focus on helping you make informed decisions that align with your values and goals.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I specialize in supporting adults (18+) navigating anxiety, mood disorders, OCD, ADHD, depression, trauma-related symptoms, eating disorders, and emotional regulation challenges. Many of my clients seek diagnostic clarity, medication support, or a provider who can collaborate closely with their therapist. I strive to create an inclusive, affirming environment for all individuals, including those who are neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+, or exploring their identity, needs, and goals within a supportive therapeutic space.

My treatment methods

Integrative

I use an integrative therapeutic approach that combines evidence-based psychiatric care with a personalized understanding of each individual’s unique needs, background, and goals. This style allows me to draw from multiple frameworks—such as psychopharmacology, cognitive and behavioral strategies, mindfulness, developmental insight, and trauma-informed care—tailoring treatment to support the whole person rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all model.

Psychoeducation

Psychoeducation is a core part of how I work with clients and families. I believe that understanding what’s happening—whether it’s symptoms, diagnoses, brain development, or how medications work—can reduce fear, empower decision-making, and build trust in the treatment process. I incorporate psychoeducation throughout our work together, offering information in clearaccessible ways that are tailored to the client’s age, communication style, and readiness to engage.

Supportive

Supportive therapy is a foundational part of my work with clients. It creates a safe, consistent space where individuals feel heard, validated, and encouraged—especially during times of emotional stress or transition. I use supportive therapy to build trust, strengthen coping skills, and reinforce a client’s sense of agency and resilience.
