With a background in addiction and severe mental illness, I offer a warm, collaborative, patient-centered approach that emphasizes listening, shared decision-making, and creating practical treatment plans that fit each person’s real life. I have recently started offering SPRAVATO to my patients for treatment resistant depression.
First session
In our first session, the focus is on understanding you as a whole person, not just a diagnosis. I take time to listen carefully to your story, symptoms, goals, and past treatment experiences so we can build a clear picture together. You can expect a structured but conversational interview where you are encouraged to ask questions and share what has and hasn’t worked for you in the past. My approach is collaborative: you know your body and your life best, and my role is to bring clinical expertise, options, and guidance. We will discuss potential diagnoses, treatment options, and next steps side by side, so you feel informed and involved rather than talked at. By the end of the visit, you should have a sense of being heard, a plan we agree on together, and an open space to continue refining your care over time.

My greatest strength is truly listening and making patients feel heard, especially when they have felt dismissed in the past. I combine a strong clinical background in addiction medicine and severe psychiatric illness with practical outpatient experience treating a wide range of conditions, from ADHD and mood disorders to psychosis. Together, we weigh benefits, side effects, and personal preferences so treatment fits your real life. I am also committed to staying current with new research and best practices, continually expanding my knowledge to offer safe, effective, and evidence-informed care.

I work especially well with people facing ADHD, mood symptoms, anxiety, psychosis, or substance use who want a nonjudgmental space to be heard, get clear on what is happening, and build a realistic plan that fits their lives and goals

Motivational Interviewing
Motivational interviewing is a core part of my work with clients who feel ambivalent about change, especially around substance use and other high-impact behaviors. I use a warm, nonjudgmental style focused on open-ended questions, reflective listening, and affirmations to help clients clarify their own values and goals. Rather than pushing a specific agenda, I collaborate with clients to strengthen their internal motivation, honor their autonomy, and translate insight into practical, realistic next steps.
