I am a licensed clinical social worker in Pennsylvania working as a therapist in mental health and substance use disorders. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, substance use disorder, and childhood trauma. I have also helped many people who experience low self-esteem, and who struggle with body image/self-love. My therapy style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, person-centered, strengths-based, and solution focused approaches. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. I am currently accepting clients ages 14+.
During the first session, I like to understand what events have led you to reach out for support. I like to learn about you as a person: your likes/dislikes, strengths, perceived limitation, etc. The goal is to create a safe space to begin building trust and rapport so that we can work together in an honest way that promotes growth, strength, and overall wellbeing.
My biggest strength, I think, is being able to create a warm, welcoming, and safe space. I believe that I am able to be both direct and compassionate in order to challenge behavior patterns while being empathetic to your needs.
I like to meet my clients where they're at in their healing journey and support them in creating goals and building skills that work best for them.
Sometimes we get stuck and are unsure how to move toward our goals. I work with clients utilizing MI techniques to help them get "unstuck" and see a clearer path toward their goals.
Sometimes, therapy requires solution-focused techniques for a quick-fix. We work together to identify how to efficiently work through what's keeping you stuck. This is for those who are limited in the time they can commit to therapy.
Much like person-centered, I work with clients to identify their strengths and use these strengths to encourage change and healing.
Supportive Therapy interventions are used when clients are looking for a safe space to process difficult feelings. Sometimes we just need to be heard and validated.
