I am a highly motivated and dedicated board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) committed to partnering with you on your journey toward mental wellness. My academic foundation began at Walden University, where I obtained my Master’s degree in Psychiatry. This rigorous training provided me with the clinical expertise necessary to treat a wide array of complex mental health conditions. However, my professional journey is defined by a deep-seated commitment to both the clinical and administrative sides of healthcare, ensuring that every patient receives holistic support.

Furthermore, my experience in long-term care settings has equipped me with the patience and persistence required to manage chronic, persistent mental illness over extended periods, ensuring stability and dignity for my patients.

One of the defining chapters of my career has been my decade-long tenure at Yale University. Serving as a clinical administrator for over ten years, I gained invaluable experience supporting patients and caregivers as they navigated the complexities of neurological conditions. My time at Yale allowed me to bridge the gap between clinical care and community resources, providing effective counseling to families dealing with life-altering diagnoses. This experience instilled in me a profound understanding of how neurological health and mental health intersect, and it remains a cornerstone of my practice today. When I am not in the clinic or meeting with clients online, I prioritize my own well-being by spending quality time with my family. I am an avid animal lover and enjoy taking long walks with my dog, Max. I also find great peace and expression in music and have played the piano for many years. I am truly excited to get to know you and to provide the expert, compassionate support you deserve as you navigate your mental health journey. Together, we can work toward a brighter, more balanced future.

First session

During our first session, we will get to know each other and ensure we have a mutual understanding of your need and the best way I can support you. You will have the time to discuss your background, past experiences and any pertinent concerns you may have. This is a time for you to express yourself openly and honestly to ensure a thorough understanding of your concerns and expectations. We will discuss your goals as well as therapeutic techniques and interventions that fit your needs.

Strengths

I am gifted with compassion and listening skills that creates a trusting atmosphere for my clients where they feel heard and understood. The quest for knowledge never ends with me, I encourage client to share their thoughts and ideas on treatment plan and respect their choices to hold off or discontinue a treatment as desired. In addition to my administrative leadership, I bring extensive clinical experience across a variety of specialized psychiatric fields. My background includes significant work in forensic psychiatry, where I have managed complex cases within the legal system, as well as geriatric psychiatry (Geri-psych), focusing on the unique mental health needs of the aging population. Furthermore, my experience in long-term care settings has equipped me with the patience and persistence required to manage chronic, persistent mental illness over extended periods, ensuring stability and dignity for my patients. Before joining Grow Therapy, my practice as a Nurse Practitioner was diverse and fast-paced. I have successfully managed a high-volume telepsychiatry caseload, seeing up to 20 patients per day. My clinical reach spans a wide age range, from children as young as 8 to adults aged 85. I specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of a broad spectrum of disorders, including: Mood & Psychotic Disorders: Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Mania, and Major Depressive Disorder. Developmental & Behavioral Disorders: Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Trauma & Stress: Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Adjustment Disorders. Specialized Care: Eating disorders, anxiety disorders, and substance use disorders, including Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for addiction. I am a firm believer in the power of education. I spend significant time with my patients discussing their diagnoses, medication management, and symptom recovery. I empower those I treat with coping strategies, relapse prevention techniques, and connections to vital community resources. Whether I am providing individual counseling or working with a family to navigate a new diagnosis, my goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space for healing.

Ideal clients

If you struggle with finding an effective treatment for your depression, anxiety, mood disorders, brain fog, addiction, difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep, I am her to assist you on your journey.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

The ability to make lasting changes exists in each individual. While the willingness and desire to change may be strong, we often lack to motivation and structure necessary to sustain that change. Our thoughts, behaviors and feelings are interconnected and have a direct impact on our physical, mental and emotional health. Through the use of cognitive behavior therapy, I support my clients on their journey in setting meaningful and realistic goals while providing them with the resources and reassurance necessary to succeed.

Rhode has a person-centered & collaborative approach, incorporating your valid concerns w/her astute observations into practical solutions. I never feel dismissed or unheard, she takes her time to understand the intricacies of your problems in the scope of your life & environment. She understands life's interruptions to function in a way that makes attending sessions more than a simple med review. I'm in the field also & had some not-so-stellar services before, so Rhode is a breath of fresh air!
