New clients continue care with this provider

Taking the first step in creating change in your life takes strength, and that is what you are doing today. I will meet you where you are with a compassionate, sensitive, and non-judgmental approach. Before becoming a therapist, I was a teacher. I saw how core thought patterns and past trauma deeply impacted the learning and functioning of my students. I began taking counseling courses to become a better teacher. As I progressed in my studies, I realized my true passion was working with people to overcome their challenges rather than teaching--my favorite subject to talk about is the person in front of me!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. I will ask questions to find out what type of approach will support you best, what will encourage and motivate you, to help you overcome your challenges. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength is in providing a strong and attuned presence for you to safely process your deepest hurts, traumas, embarrassments, regrets, frustrations, and everything in between. I can walk with you on that path without judgment and help you get to the other side of your issue.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I have experience with the LGBTQ+ community as well as with those with Trauma and PTSD, ADHD, Depression, and Anxiety.

My treatment methods

Trauma Informed Care

I use a variety of methods to customize treatment based on individual needs and level of comfort. Together we will work to identify what approach works best for you as well as building your comfort in session to address your traumatic experiences.

Eclectic

Therapy is not one-size-fits-all, and after we get to know each other we will create a plan together. My approach to treatment is customized to you and your specific needs. I draw from several different theoretical orientations to create a holistic approach. These are: Existential - looking for ways to create meaning and purpose in your life, Gestalt - looking at all the pieces that make up your life and working to achieve balance, Solution-Focused - creating ways to reach your "pie in the sky" goals Trauma-Focused - deep healing and resolution methods for past wounds that limit your life.
