Hi all! Have you ever wondered what life would be like free of anxiety and depressive symptoms? Are you feeling lost and in need of a purpose? I love helping folks recover from issues like anxiety, depression, OCD and complex post-traumatic stress. Healing and recovery are possible! I will work with you to establish small achievable goals we can take baby steps toward. I also believe in the importance of being able to explore and process feelings that were not safe to share in the past. Healing is a process that takes time and I will help guide you. I can help you get to the root of the issue and teach you skills you can use all of your life in various situations. I do inner-child/ inner-adult work for those interested, but I also use the more practical REBT to help shift rigid perspectives that keep us stuck. I know seeking therapy can feel scary and intimidating, you have already taken the brave step of seeking assistance. I will meet you with patience and empathy and help you realize the strength you never knew you had. Let's work together!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session I want to get to know you and gear you are hoping to get out of therapy. I want to learn about your relationships, hobbies, interests and other facets of life that are important to you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My strengths are that I have done a lot of personal healing work so I have that unique experience. I have a lot of knowledge and am passionate about learning and teaching. I use humor in my work which can help people cope with tough situations. I am confident that by changing our perspectives and grieving our traumas we can accept ourselves no matter what.

My treatment methods

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

I have had training in this modality, I find it useful in my practice using parts work for anyone but it seems to be especially helpful for trauma survivors. I help people identify the parts of themselves like protectors, fire fighters and managers as well as the true "Self" which will serve to soothe these parts. I see this as a transformative opportunity to accept oneself completely, challenge self-hating thoughts, behaviors and beliefs and develop self love.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)

I have training in this modality, it is very helpful for people with OCD and anxiety symptoms. It systematically helps people identify some of their major triggers and work toward gradual exposures which eventually lessens the person's reactivity and fear over time. I've seen it help countless sufferers develop more confidence in their ability to manage their lives.

Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy

This treatment is practical and helpful for anyone looking to develop more calmness and acceptance, lower triggers and reactivity. I use these principles in my own life daily. I help people find the core beliefs that are associated with irrational thinking and behaviors and develop more helpful beliefs to consider.
