I’m Mercy Nyeche, DNP, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience providing compassionate, quality, and evidence-based mental health care. I have worked in a variety of clinical settings including psychiatric urgent care, inpatient behavioral health units, emergency departments, and outpatient psychiatric clinics, where I have treated individuals experiencing depression, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, psychosis, mania, drug related mental disorders, and other complex mental health concerns. Seeking support can feel overwhelming—especially when you’re used to being the strong one for everyone else. Many of my clients are high-functioning, dependable individuals who are often the “go-to” person in their families, workplaces, or communities, yet silently struggle with their own emotional and mental health needs.

I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and evidence-based medication management, but I also emphasize psychoeducation, skill-building, and lifestyle integration.

I specialize in working with: College Students & Young Adult Healthcare Professionals & First Responders Adults, Depression and Mood disorders. Common challenges some of my client's face are persistent anxiety, racing thoughts, or feeling on edge Low mood, lack of motivation, or emotional numbness Burnout and chronic stress Difficulty focusing, procrastination, or executive dysfunction (ADHD) Life transitions (career changes, school, relationships, identity shifts) Feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you.

First session

I believe effective mental health care is built on trust, collaboration, and evidence-based practice. I take a holistic view-considering not just symptoms, but the unique aspects of your life, background, and strengths. My goal is to provide a safe, respectful space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered on your path toward healing and balance.

Strengths

One of my greatest strengths is my holistic, whole-person approach. I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and evidence-based medication management, but I also emphasize psychoeducation, skill-building, and lifestyle integration. I create a safe, collaborative space where you can ask questions and fully understand your treatment options. I have extensive experience partnering with other providers-ensuring that all aspects of your care are aligned. Ultimately, I strive to make mental health care feel personal and empowering-never rushed or clinical. I integrate Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, and supportive therapy techniques to help patients explore challenges, strengthen coping skills, and improve overall emotional well-being.

Ideal clients

I specialize in working with: Healthcare Professionals & First Responders You spend your days caring for others in high-stress, demanding environments—but often at the expense of your own well-being. Burnout, compassion fatigue, anxiety, sleep disturbances, or emotional exhaustion can build over time. I provide a space where you can decompress, process, and regain a sense of control and balance. Clients often describe me as warm, understanding, and easy to talk to. I create a nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard and supported—while also helping you move forward with clear, actionable steps. If you’re tired of just “pushing through” and ready to feel more balanced, focused, and in control, I’m here to support you. Kindly book an appointment. Thank you

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help patients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. During sessions, we work together to identify unhelpful thinking patterns and develop healthier coping skills and strategies for managing stress and emotions. CBT can be helpful for conditions such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma-related symptoms, and life stressors. When appropriate, therapy is combined with medication management to provide comprehensive mental health care through secure telehealth sessions.

Mercy advised me to take therapy for depression. Today was my first session and I felt great talking to a professional. I appreciated her questions and suggestions. Mercy was interested and learning more about my experiences and why I started taking medications. I have also received feedback and recognition for all my efforts to continuo positive and hopeful. Thank you so much.

I felt like she knew everything I was trying to convey to her and that was very helpful. I also felt like she was telling me exactly what she thought was the best course of action, so I liked that she was direct and solution oriented.
