Hi! I’m Marsha and thank you for visiting my profile. I am an LCSW-C in Maryland and have been practicing for over 9 years. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Columbia College and a Master of Social Work in Advanced Clinical Practice from Saint Leo University. I specialize in teaching individuals the skills and strategies to identify, challenge, cope and hopefully resolve maladaptive thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and help them live more balanced, healthy, and fulfilling lives. What has prompted you to seek therapy…unpredictable moods, pervasive sadness, feelings of anxiety or panic, difficulty with concentration and focus? Or needing a safe person to talk to? Whatever your reasons, I commend you for taking this first step. I'm looking forward to our partnership!
During our first session together, we will spend some time getting to know one another with brief introductions. You and I will work together to determine your goals and to build your plan for treatment.
My greatest strength is in helping people feel at ease during stressful times. Telling your story to a complete stranger can be very difficult and uncomfortable. Creating and maintaining an environment of positive regard and acceptance is essential.
CBT is a very effective treatment method that helps clients learn the interactions, impact and influence our thoughts have on our feelings and behaviors. I have used CBT throughout my psychotherapy career and have found it to be beneficial to most.
Learning to be present and in the moment is the foundation of Mindfulness. I use mindful meditation and other activities to help my clients achieve a balanced mental state and effectively process emotions
