Racheal Onodu is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who is board-certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is a graduate of Grand Canyon University where she earned her BSN. Her extensive 16 years of Nursing experience in various medical/mental health facilities and organizations fueled her passion for the care of patients struggling with social stigma from mental disorders and led her to earn her Master’s degree at Walden University to become a psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner. She has honed her skills through her exposure in the inpatient mental health facility. Her private practice is aimed at providing excellent care to patients ages 16 and above. Ms. Onodu specializes in the treatment of a wide range of mental disorders including psychiatric illness, behavioral problems, and personality disorders, and with psychotherapy. She utilizes the holistic approach and biopsychosocial model in the treatment of her patients and engages her patients during assessments, psychoeducation with empathetic listening, and selection of the best evidence-based treatment options. Ms Onodu provides specialized care and treatment to individuals struggling with emotions and anxiety and offers remote/virtual appointments and consultations in the comfort of your space.
In our first session, we will start with a brief introduction and go through past and present challenges. This will assist in creating a personalized care plan for us to work with to achieve optimal mental wellness.

I utilize motivational interviewing as my clinical style for engaging my patients in their treatment plans, which enhances their motivation to reduce substance use and supports adherence to recommended behavioral or pharmacological treatments. It maintains a clear and shared goal, and the commitment to initiate behavior change, improve the patient-clinician partnership to develop a change plan of setting clear, achievable goals and committing to the plan
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT is used in the management of psychiatric disorders including depression, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, substance abuse, and personality disorders. It is used in my practice and has been demonstrated to be effective as an adjunctive treatment to medication for serious mental disorders such as bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, depression and anxiety disorders.
