New to Grow
I received my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Rowan University and completed the Addiction Counselor Training (ACT) Program at Rutgers University. I am dually licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) in the state of New Jersey. In addition, I have various credentials including Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) and National Certified Counselor (NCC). I have over fifteen years of experience working in various treatment settings and levels of care. Over the years, I have worked with clients throughout the lifespan including children, teenagers, adults and older adults. I have worked with various mental health, behavioral health and substance abuse difficulties. I specialize primarily in clients struggling with mood disorders, personality disorder, trauma, and strained relationships with food and/or body. I utilize various approaches in sessions including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help clients gain skills to cope and navigate life.
I provide a welcoming, non-judgmental, safe and supportive virtual environment. During the first session we will review background history and how it may have contributed to who you are today. We prioritize time at the latter portion of the session to collaboratively develop your treatment plan. I want to ensure I am supporting you the best I can and this includes identifying what goals you may have. We will discuss how often we would like to meet to best support you with your therapy goals.
I take pride in being intentional, mindful and present in my sessions with clients. I individualize my therapy approaches, techniques and tools based on what may serve you best. I am friendly, empathic, kind and supportive. I look forward to guiding you on your mental health journey.
I enjoy working with clients in individual therapy to collaborate, support and guide clients in a one-on-one setting. I enjoy working with clients in various stages of their lives including adolescence, teenage, young adulthood and adulthood. I enjoy working with clients of various gender and sexual identities. I enjoy working with clients at various readiness for change including those who are eager for therapy or others who may be ambivalent about gaining support, those who are goal oriented or those uncertain about areas for growth.
Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality aimed at identifying the connection between thoughts, behaviors and emotions. CBT is a useful therapy modality to help gain insight and understanding of why and how we think and how it connects to how we act and feel the way we do. CBT incorporates useful tools to aid in decreasing panic, slowing down racing thoughts, navigating symptoms of depression and more.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
Dialetical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is a treatment modality incorporating skill building to build a life worth living. DBT prioritizes four core modules: mindfulness (being fully in the present moment), distress tolerance (learning to cope and navigate intense emotions), interpersonal effectiveness (how to effectively navigate relationships including communication skills and boundaries) and emotion regulation (identifying skills to help us cope with overwhelming feelings). DBT is effective in supporting clients with various concerns including personality disorders and trauma.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a therapy modality geared towards helping with change. Change can be challenging and difficult leading to feelings of doubt or ambivalence. With the use of MI techniques and skills, we can identify ways to increase inner motivation and desire to support the change. MI is a useful therapy modality for many areas of concern including substance use recovery.
