Welcome! I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) currently living in Pennsylvania, but was born and raised in California (Bay Area). I have been practicing for 17 years, and am licensed in both states. I find therapy rewarding at all ages, but specifically enjoy working with adults and families.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I enjoy initial sessions, as it is a time for me to meet and learn about you. We will explore what brought you to therapy, your current struggles, and ultimately the goals you want to accomplish in our time together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have learned many techniques over my years of practicing, but have always found my greatest strength is listening. This provides me the ablity to actively engage with you, and provide reflection and feedback on what you've shared. Instead of single therapeutic approach that you are just plugged into, I work to create a treatment approach specifically catered to your needs and goals.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have utilized CBT as the main modality of therapy in the mental health services I provide for the past 17 years. It’s helped dozens of clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.

Couples Counseling

As a marriage and family therapist I have work for many years with couples experiencing challenges in their relationships. From communication and understanding challenges, to divorce and supporting couples in making difficult life decisions and/or changes.

Strength-Based

I approach each client with a strength-based approach, respecting each individual's unique life story. I utilize techniques and interventions from many therapeutic orientations, which provides an effective and supportive therapeutic experience.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

For clients who come to therapy for more acute problems, solution-focused brief therapy is a strength-based approach to psychotherapy that is effective in focusing on solution-building rather than problem-solving. Solution focused therapy concentrates on an individual's current life circumstances, and his/her future hopes goals.

Family Therapy

As a marriage and family therapist I have work for many years with with families struggling with a wide variety of life challenges. Examples include parenting techniques, communication challenges, and defiant children to name a few. My focus is to make sure each family member is heard, and everyone's needs are heard.
