I am a therapist that believes in therapy works best when people feel heard, respected, and understood—not judged. My goal is to create a comfortable environment where clients can openly discuss life's challenges while building the skills and confidence needed to create meaningful, lasting change. I strive to meet clients where they are, recognizing that every person's story, experiences, and goals are unique. As a veteran and psychotherapist, I bring a calm, grounded, and solution-focused perspective to my work. My experiences continue to shape my therapeutic style by helping me provide steady support while maintaining empathy and genuine compassion for the people I serve.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, but my goal is to make your first session feel comfortable, welcoming, and judgment-free. We'll begin by getting to know each other and discussing what brought you to therapy, the challenges you're facing, and what you hope to achieve. I'll ask questions about your personal history, current concerns, strengths, and the areas of your life that have been affected. The first session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and decide whether I feel like the right fit for your needs. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I believe you are the expert on your own life. My role is to help you better understand your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while teaching practical skills to support lasting change. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and may incorporate DBT skills, mindfulness, grounding techniques, and other evidence-based approaches based on your goals. Together, we'll begin developing a personalized treatment plan that supports your needs. By the end of the session, you'll have a clearer understanding of how we'll work together and the next steps in your treatment. My goal is to provide a supportive space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring a calm, approachable, and nonjudgmental presence to every session, creating a space where clients can feel safe, heard, and respected. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful change, so I focus on building trust and meeting clients where they are. My approach is collaborative and practical. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) while incorporating DBT skills, mindfulness, grounding techniques, motivational interviewing, and other evidence-based interventions to meet each client's unique needs. I believe therapy should provide clients with practical tools they can use in their daily lives—not just insight during sessions. As a veteran, I bring resilience, discipline, adaptability, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. These experiences help me support clients through difficult situations with consistency, empathy, and understanding.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who is ready to make meaningful changes in their life, even if they aren't sure where to start. They don't need to have all the answers or feel "ready" for therapy—they simply need to be open to the process and willing to work collaboratively toward their goals. I work well with children, adolescents, and adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, emotional regulation difficulties, behavioral concerns, grief, trauma-related symptoms, ADHD, relationship challenges, or major life transitions. Many of my clients feel overwhelmed, stuck, or frustrated by patterns that no longer serve them and are looking for practical strategies to improve their emotional well-being.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is the primary approach I use because I believe our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are closely connected. When we experience difficult situations, it's often our interpretation of those experiences that influences how we feel and respond. Together, we'll identify unhelpful thought patterns and beliefs that may be contributing to anxiety, depression, stress, or other challenges.

Positive Psychology

I incorporate Positive Psychology into my practice by helping clients recognize and build upon their existing strengths rather than focusing solely on symptoms or challenges. While it is important to understand and work through difficult experiences, I also believe that lasting growth comes from identifying what is already working and using those strengths to support resilience and well-being.

Eclectic

I take an eclectic approach to therapy, which means I tailor treatment to fit your unique needs, goals, and experiences rather than relying on a single therapeutic method. Every client is different, so I believe therapy should be flexible and personalized. While Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) serves as the foundation of my practice, I integrate techniques from other evidence-based approaches when they are appropriate. Depending on your goals, this may include DBT skills to strengthen emotional regulation, mindfulness and grounding techniques to manage stress and anxiety, Positive Psychology to build resilience and identify personal strengths, motivational interviewing to support behavior change, and solution-focused strategies to help you move toward meaningful goals.
