Hello, my name is Vanessa Estrada Baron, and I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master's degree in Counseling from California State University, Fullerton. I identify as a first-generation Latina, cisgender woman. I'm passionate about working with BIPOC families, and individuals. Additionally, I am an ally to the LGBTQIA+ and undocumented/DACAmented communities. I hope we can work together in finding meaning and feeling satisfied with where your life is heading. I utilize a range of evidence-based therapies, including person-centered therapy. Cognitive behavioral therapy, msand tray interventions, art therapy interventions, and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy with an anti-racist and anti-oppressive approach. These approaches allow us to build a therapeutic connection and give us a roadmap in this therapy journey. As we work together, there may be some wounds that are uncovered brought on by childhood trauma, intergeneration trauma, societal injustices, or any other significant events that you’d be willing to explore. I hope to provide a safe space to process your feelings and would be honored to be a tool for you. Aside from being a therapist, I am a wife, I am a mother to a two-year-old daughter, I am a daughter of two immigrant parents, I am a sister to a brother and sister. Some of my self-care includes hiking, playing video games, reading, taking baths, and spending time with my parents. I am looking forward to meeting you! Asking for help is not easy, so if you are struggling with anxiety, depression, a recent loss, anger, internal or external conflict, or you’re looking to find meaning, I can already tell your resilience!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, our main goal is to establish a strong foundation for our therapeutic relationship. We'll discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your goals, and any concerns you may have. This initial meeting is also an opportunity for you to get a sense of my approach and ask any questions you may have about the process. Remember, it's a collaborative journey, and I'm here to support you every step of the way.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My niche would be working with the Latinx community, families, teens and emerging adults. Although I’m honored to work with anyone interested in starting their healing journey.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I employ a structured, goal-oriented approach that focuses on identifying and challenging unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. Through collaborative and evidence-based techniques, I assist clients in developing practical skills to manage and overcome a range of psychological challenges. By empowering individuals to reshape their thinking and reactions, we work together towards sustainable, positive change and improved mental well-being.

Daialectical Behavior (DBT)

I offer a comprehensive and compassionate approach to help individuals navigate complex emotions and challenging situations. DBT equips clients with valuable skills in mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. Through a combination of structured techniques and a supportive therapeutic relationship, I guide clients towards a more balanced and fulfilling life, fostering greater emotional stability and resilience.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I focus on harnessing individuals' existing strengths and resources to create positive change. This approach emphasizes practical solutions and encourages clients to envision a future where their concerns have significantly improved. By collaboratively setting clear, achievable goals, we work together to construct a roadmap towards a more satisfying and fulfilling life.
