When meeting with a new client, I like to begin with just having a conversation with them. I am sensitive to the reality that creating a comfortable, inviting environment could make a big difference to some who may not initially feel at ease. Or may be hesitant about openly sharing their struggles or concerns. My goal is to to partner with my clients to shine a light on what they value about life, and seek their truth and self-knowledge in a meaningful way.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I believe in allowing the client to set the pace of the session, specifically the initial meeting. Building rapport and having a dialogue about the issues presented is foremost; I also begin gathering information of the client's relevant history. We may discuss treatment goals, and discuss the mechanics of the treatment process.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Clients have shared they feel well supported in our work together. And they know I genuinely care. I am experienced with helping people understand and accept their struggles and wounded parts as a part of being human. Another area of strength is helping people try to better understand their emotional experiences even though it is hard work. To see things clearly and to be in alignment with their true self.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

Once collaborative therapy goals are established with the client, I strive for helping adults heal that feel stuck in unwanted behaviors, beliefs, emotions, and urges. Oftentimes, these are attachment wounds from childhood or adult experiences.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

I have had enduring success using EFT interventions for individual and couple work. EFT tends to resonate with people who are looking for hope and practical strategies to apply in the healthiest way possible. This work helps the client to recognize what's behind some of the disconnected exchanges and experiences they have or may be going through

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Using CBT principles has been a very effective form of therapy for clients that present with symptoms of depression and/or anxiety that has resulted in the creation of unhelpful patterns of behavior and thinking. We look at what's currently happening to focus on how to move forward in more adaptive, less stressful ways.
