First session

The intake session is an opportunity to begin establishing a therapeutic relationship and creating a safe, supportive environment. During this initial meeting, information is gathered regarding client's personal, social, medical, and mental health history, as well as current symptoms, concerns, and challenges. The session also provides an opportunity to explore client's strengths, coping strategies, and support systems. Together, the therapist and client identify treatment needs, discuss goals for therapy, and develop a collaborative plan to support the client's overall well-being and progress toward meaningful change.

Strengths

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe, heard, and understood. Drawing from both my professional training and personal life experiences, I bring authenticity, empathy, and genuine curiosity to the therapeutic relationship. I am skilled at holding space for clients through difficult emotions and experiences while maintaining a compassionate and supportive presence. At the same time, I recognize the importance of balancing validation with growth. I am comfortable gently challenging clients when appropriate, helping them identify patterns, gain insight, and move toward meaningful change. My approach is collaborative, culturally responsive, and grounded in respect for each client's unique experiences, values, and goals.

Ideal clients

Individuals who are navigating anxiety or depression and feel stuck- but haven't given up yet. They're ready to do something different and are looking for a supportive, collaborative space to make that happen. They don't need to have everything figured out before reaching out. They just need a willingness to show up, be honest, and lean into the process- even when it is uncomfortable.
