Are you looking to make changes but need support and gentle accountability? Then, let me introduce myself. My name is Jessica Stallard and I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in the state of Virginia (license #0904008299). I received a Bachelor’s Degree (BA) in Sociology and a Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from Radford University in Radford, VA (Go Highlanders!). I have over 15 years of experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and various ages in a variety of clinical settings including crisis assessment, biopsychosocial assessment, outpatient counseling, EAP, teaching, and clinical supervision. I am a person-centered and trauma-informed therapist who uses cognitive behavioral and mindfulness concepts to help those I work with achieve the goals they set for themselves. If you think you might like to work with me, please reach out. I would love to see what we can do!
I take a collaborative approach to therapy, working with clients to develop achievable goals as well as a plan to reach those goals. Clients I work with determine the pace of our work together and are viewed as the experts with my role being that of support and guidance utilizing techniques from a variety of treatment models.
I am a person-centered and trauma-informed therapist that utilizes techniques and tools from cognitive behavioral concepts, motivational interviewing, mindfulness/somatic concepts, and, when appropriate, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
I believe that trust and respect are important for building a productive and therapeutic working relationship. I am a provider that prides herself on being respectful and practicing unconditional positive regard for those I work with in therapy; feedback is not only accepted but encouraged.
