Welcome! My name is Kristen Holt and I am a LCSW from California. I have been practicing for 7 years providing therapy to children, adolescents and adults. I’m here to really listen, help you make sense of what you're feeling, and work with you to build practical tools for relief, clarity, and change. My goal is to create a space where you can feel safe to be yourself, explore what’s going on, and start feeling more like you again.
First sessions can feel a little scary, and that is normal! My goal is to help you feel comfortable and at ease from the start. We’ll spend our time getting to know each other. I’ll ask some questions about what’s been going on in your life, what brought you to therapy, and what you’re hoping to get out of our work together. There's no pressure to have all the answers right away, as I will move to the speed you are comfortable with. You can also ask me any questions you have about therapy, my approach, or what working together might look like. This session is really about starting to build a connection and creating a space where you feel safe, heard, and supported. By the end of our first session, you’ll hopefully have a clearer sense of what therapy with me feels like, and we can talk about what next steps might be helpful for you.
My greatest strength as a therapist is my authenticity. I show up as a real person in the room—approachable, honest, and genuinely invested in my clients' growth and well-being. I believe adults don’t need someone to “fix” them or talk in clinical jargon—they need someone who can sit with them, really listen, and meet them with honesty, empathy, and respect.
I work best with teenagers or adults who are navigating the ups and downs of life and feeling weighed down by anxiety, stress, or depression. Maybe you’re feeling overwhelmed by responsibilities, stuck in patterns that aren’t working anymore, or just not feeling like yourself lately. You might find yourself overthinking, feeling disconnected, or running on empty—even if things look "fine" from the outside. You want to get better, but you are feeling unsure of your next steps or which direction to get help.
I use CBT, ACT, mindfulness and I come with a client centered approach since I believe that therapy should be tailed for what you need.
