Welcome!! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) located in Pennsylvania. I graduated in 2019 from Slippery Rock University with my Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have worked with many individuals over the last 6 years between the ages of 13-60, working through challenges related to anxiety, depression, substance misuse and self-esteem. I love providing a safe space for clients to explore these areas of their lives and find a plan that works best for them to navigate these challenges.
In our first session together, you can expect to spend some time getting to know each other and exploring what brings you to therapy. I believe in building a strong therapeutic relationship with clients and allow them to use this first session as a trial to see if we would be a good match to work together. We will also discuss goals and intentions that the client has for therapy sessions, as well as how the therapeutic process works. At the end of the first session, the client will be able to make a decision if they would like to proceed with me as their clinician.
My strengths as a therapist lie in my empathetic and relatable approach, drawing from my own personal growth journey to connect with teenagers and young adults. My authenticity and self-awareness create a strong therapeutic alliance, allowing clients to feel understood and accepted. This connection, rooted in my own experiences, enhances my ability to empathize with client struggles related to anxiety, depression, and self-esteem. By integrating my personal insights, I offer a unique perspective that fosters trust and resonates with my clients, contributing to a more effective and meaningful therapeutic experience.
I love working with teenagers and adults that are highly motivated and willing to make changes in their lives. I specifically enjoy working with individuals struggling with issues related to anxiety, depression, and self-esteem. I excel in creating a supportive environment where these individuals feel understood and valued. I feel that I can connect with clients navigating the complexities of adolescence and early adulthood, addressing their challenges with empathy and evidence-based interventions. My strengths lie in tailoring therapeutic approaches to the specific needs of each individual, fostering growth, resilience, and positive mental well-being during this crucial developmental stage.
I have worked with many clients struggling with negative cognitive distortions about themselves and their behaviors. Through the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques with clients, we collaboratively identify and challenge negative thought patterns. I help to guide clients to recognize connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, fostering a proactive approach to address and reshape cognitive distortions. Through tailored exercises and homework, I empower clients to develop coping strategies and promote positive behavioral changes, ultimately enhancing their overall mental well-being.
For many years, I have worked with clients struggling to understand their own thought patterns. In sessions, I implement Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) by encouraging clients to accept their thoughts and emotions rather than resisting them. I help to guide them in clarifying their values and setting meaningful life goals. Mindfulness exercises help clients be present in the moment, fostering psychological flexibility. We will work together on defusing from unhelpful thoughts and commit to actions aligned with their values, promoting personal growth and a more fulfilling life.
I believe that every individual is unique and there is no “one size fits all” when it comes to therapy. In sessions, I adopt an eclectic approach, drawing from various therapeutic modalities based on the unique needs of each client to ensure the best outcome for them. This tailored method combines elements from different theories, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, and Holistic approaches. By flexibly integrating techniques, I work to ensure a comprehensive and personalized therapeutic experience, addressing diverse aspects of each clients concerns to promote effective and holistic mental health support.
We oftentimes get stuck living in our past and future thoughts. By incorporating mindfulness-based therapy in session, I help to guide clients to cultivate present-moment awareness. I introduce many different mindfulness exercises, such as focused breathing or body scans, to help clients observe thoughts and feelings without judgment. By incorporating mindfulness into discussions, I am able to assist clients in developing a non-reactive and accepting stance, promoting emotional regulation. This approach encourages clients to explore their inner experiences with greater clarity, fostering self-awareness and resilience in coping with life's challenges.
