(she/her)
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over five years of clinical experience. I am licensed in the state of Maryland and have worked across a variety of settings, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, nursing homes, and group homes. This broad experience allows me to provide comprehensive, individualized care tailored to each patient’s unique needs. I am here to support you in maintaining your independence and sense of control, because mental illness should never be a barrier to living a fulfilling life. My mission is to partner with you, provide the care and guidance you need, and help you move toward the stability, growth, and quality of life you truly deserve. I specialize in the treatment of anxiety disorders, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, substance use disorders, and schizophrenia. I am committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care in a respectful, nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout your mental health journey.
During your first session, you can expect a welcoming, supportive, and confidential environment where we begin building a trusting therapeutic relationship. We will start by discussing your concerns, goals, and what led you to seek care. I will take time to gather a comprehensive understanding of your mental health history, medical background, family dynamics, and any previous treatments or therapies you have tried. This thorough assessment allows me to understand your unique experiences and needs. Together, we will explore your current challenges and identify clear, realistic goals for treatment. I will also explain my approach to care, including what to expect from therapy, medication management, or a combination of both, as appropriate. This initial session is focused on creating a safe space for you to share your story while developing a collaborative, individualized treatment plan. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, supported, and hopeful about the next steps in your journey toward mental wellness.
My greatest strengths as a provider are my compassionate, patient-centered approach, strong clinical judgment, and ability to deliver individualized care. I prioritize creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where patients feel comfortable sharing their experiences and concerns. This foundation of trust allows for open communication and meaningful collaboration throughout treatment. What distinguishes my therapeutic approach is the integration of thorough assessment, evidence-based treatment, and ongoing collaboration. I take the time to understand each patient’s mental health history, medical background, and personal circumstances to develop treatment plans that are both realistic and effective. My experience in inpatient and outpatient settings allows me to manage complex presentations while also supporting long-term stability and functional improvement. Patients often benefit from my thoughtful medication management, clear communication, and consistent follow-up, which help promote symptom reduction, improved insight, and sustained progress toward treatment goals. My focus is not only on symptom relief, but on empowering individuals to regain control, maintain independence, and achieve a better quality of life.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have extensive experience utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as a core component of my practice to help individuals better manage their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Over the years, I have successfully applied CBT techniques to support patients dealing with a variety of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. My approach focuses on identifying and reframing negative thought patterns, teaching effective coping strategies, and fostering resilience. Whether working with children struggling with behavioral issues or adults navigating mood disorders, I integrate CBT into treatment plans to empower patients to achieve meaningful and lasting change. My goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where individuals can gain the tools they need to take control of their mental health and thrive.
