First rule of mental health: learn to distinguish who deserves an explanation, who deserves only one answer and who deserves absolutely nothing. -unknown Mental health is not a destination, it is a journey. It is less about how you are driving and more about where you are going. I believe that mental health should be addressed just as often as physical health; maybe even more often!
I want to make this experience as comfortable as possible for you and I do that by providing a non-judgmental environment where you can have free association, unwavering support and someone who actively listens and guides you effectively on your comfortability level.
I know that finding a therapist can be difficult but finding one and then connecting can be even more challenging. I am committed to providing a space where you feel seen and heard.
I have over 18 years in the mental health field and started in the clinical social work field in 2010. I have experience practicing psychotherapy on an individual level with children, teens and adults. I specialize in addressing anxiety, depression, ADHD, anger management, grief/loss, self-esteem, divorce, personality disorders and self-harm behaviors.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have been using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in practice since I became licensed. CBT works to identify situations in your life, problem solve, change thought patterns, recognize cognitive distortions, and practice new stategies.

Talking with McKenzie is like talking to a friend. She listens intently and offers real, thoughtful responses that are palpably authentic and from the heart. She comes across as very warm and empathic and like she can feel what you are feeling when you're expressing yourself. Thank you, McKenzie!
