I am a dual certified nurse practitioner, with board certification in psychiatry and family practice. I am also a certified menopause provider. I have worked in the medical field for over 20 years in diverse roles. My goal is to help those struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, and perimenopausal symptoms. I have experience with patients of all ages.

Before working as a nurse practitioner, I had a long nursing career including emergency medicine, pediatrics, surgery, and home care.

My approach is holistic, including looking for underlying causes of symptoms and utilizing lifestyle changes.

First session

The first session involves lots of questions to get to know my client and how I can best serve them. This includes medical, family, medication, and social history. We review questionnaires that help with diagnosis and directing care. Together, a plan is made which may include blood work, diet, medications, supplements, and resources. I am here to help, but always give a voice to my patient.

Strengths

Before working as a nurse practitioner, I had a long nursing career including emergency medicine, pediatrics, surgery, and home care. This gives me diverse experience to draw on as a provider. I don't believe in one size fits all treatment. We are unique with unique needs. Choose a more natural approach or traditional medication. I can guide and help you to your goal of feeling your best.

Ideal clients

I work with teen through adult populations, helping with understanding the bigger picture of ADHD in kids, providing education about diagnoses including anxiety and depression, and optimizing treatment. For perimenopausal women who may be experiencing anxiety, concentration struggles, and other symptoms, I provide bio-identical hormone replacement therapy. If you have a pre-existing diagnosis, it is helpful if you have your previous records.

Treatment methods

Integrative

As a nurse practitioner, my main focus is on medication management and identifying and treating underlying health conditions that can be helped with lifestyle changes, nutraceuticals, medications, or BHRT. While I prescribe traditional medications, I also work with patients looking for treatments approaches including functional medicine, complementary / alternative therapy, and diet adjustments.

Rachel has been a great resource for me. She takes the time to answer my questions about treatment options and explains the details about each one before we make a decision.

When Rachel and I meet I know that I am working with a genuine person! She is so kind, a good listener, and matches my humor. Rachel helps me navigate understanding when medication is/isn't working vs situational stress. Rachel is an advocate for women's health and has helped me with perimenopause symptoms which have greatly improved my sleep, weight, and stress management~ she's like my very own magic genie!
