I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and have been practicing for five years. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Development from Fresno Pacific University and went on to earn a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fresno Pacific Biblical Seminary. I help individuals who are new mothers and those going through transitional life experiences find meaning in their stories as well as empowerment and healing.
Our first session will begin with introductions and an overview of the therapeutic process. We will then discuss recent circumstances and situations impacting your current mood in order to create goals for treatment moving forward in following sessions.
I have gained extensive experience working with children, families, and individuals particularly in trauma-focused therapy setting. With compassion and humor I aim to take a collaborative approach to support clients in overcoming challenges and achieving their goals.
I enjoy working with individuals transitioning into new roles in their lives. My client's are willing to gain insight and understanding as well as motivated to foster positive change. They often struggle with feelings of guilt, shame, low-self worth as well as feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and worry about failing those around them.
Through a Narrative approach I assist clients in re-authoring their stories, and find empowerment and healing through understanding how the stories we tell ourselves shape our worldview and interactions with others.
Utilizing CBT to gain awareness on how thoughts impact emotional and psychological difficulties and explore ways to move towards a more positive mindset.
DBT can be beneficial in assisting individuals in being more effective in problem solving, managing emotions, and improving relationships.
Implementing motivational interviewing in treatment to help people struggling with change, self esteem, and take responsibility through developing a more positive empowering attitude in completing goals.
