About me

I believe therapy is most effective when people feel genuinely heard, understood, and accepted. My goal is to create a safe, collaborative space where you don’t have to face life’s challenges alone. I have extensive experience working with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, sleep problems, grief, life stress and transitions, relationship concerns, caregiver stress, and caring for loved ones with a serious mental illness. I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel vulnerable, and I strive to meet each client with compassion, curiosity, and respect—without judgment. My approach is practical, collaborative, and tailored to your individual needs. Together we’ll work to better understand what’s contributing to your current struggles while building on your strengths and developing tools that help you move toward the life you want. I believe lasting change happens through both insight and action, and therapy should leave you feeling supported, empowered, and hopeful. Whether you’re navigating overwhelming stress, recovering from difficult experiences, or simply looking to understand yourself more deeply, I consider it a privilege to walk alongside you. My hope is that you leave each session feeling heard, understood, and a little more confident than when you arrived.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Beginning therapy can feel intimidating, especially if it’s your first time. My goal is to make our first meeting feel comfortable and supportive. During our first session, we’ll spend time getting to know one another. I’ll invite you to share what has brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping will be different in your life, and any important experiences that help me understand your story. We’ll also discuss your strengths, current challenges, relationships, and any questions or concerns you may have about therapy. There’s no pressure to tell your entire life story during the first appointment. We’ll move at a pace that feels right for you. Together we’ll begin identifying your goals and develop a plan that reflects what matters most to you. By the end of our first session, my hope is that you’ll have a clearer understanding of how we’ll work together and feel reassured that you have a supportive partner in your journey.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Clients often describe me as compassionate, calm, genuine, and easy to talk to. I believe healing begins with feeling truly understood, so I listen carefully while also helping clients recognize patterns, challenge unhelpful beliefs, and discover practical ways to create meaningful change. I bring both professional expertise and a deep appreciation for the complexities of life’s challenges. I understand that healing is rarely a straight path, and I meet each person with patience, empathy, and respect for their unique experiences. While I provide a warm and supportive environment, I also believe therapy should be truly collaborative, active and purposeful. I gently encourage clients to explore new perspectives, develop effective coping skills, and take manageable steps toward their goals. Together, we’ll celebrate progress, work through setbacks, and build resilience that extends beyond our sessions. I utilize evidence-based approaches and tailor therapy according to your unique needs and goals. My hope is that clients leave therapy feeling not only supported, but more empowered, capable, and hopeful about their future.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I've been using CBT in my practice for the over 15 years, helping many clients recognize unhelpful thought patterns and learn how to better cope with stress, anxiety, and depression. Together, we'll explore the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. From there, we'll work on developing healthier ways of thinking so you can experience greater calm and reduce the stress in your daily life.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I've been using mindfulness-based therapies in my practice for over 20 years to help clients truly get to know themselves, become more aware of their thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations without judgment. Together, we'll learn techniques to stay grounded in the present moment and respond to challenges with greater clarity and intention. By developing mindfulness skills, you can reduce stress, improve emotional well-being, and create a greater sense of balance in your everyday life.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy in my practice to help clients identify their strengths and build on what is already working in their lives. Together, we'll focus on your goals, explore practical solutions, and recognize the resources you already have to create meaningful change. By taking small, achievable steps forward, you can build confidence and make lasting progress toward the life you want.

Trauma Informed Care

I've been using trauma-informed care in my practice to create a safe, supportive environment where clients can explore their experiences at their own pace. Together, we'll recognize how past experiences may be affecting your thoughts, emotions, and relationships while building on your strengths and resilience. We'll use this understanding to develop coping strategies that promote healing, restore a sense of safety, and support lasting emotional well-being.

Psychoeducation

I've been using psychoeducation in my practice to help clients better understand their mental health and the factors that influence their well-being. Together, we'll explore how thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and life experiences are connected while learning practical strategies to manage challenges more effectively. By increasing your understanding and building new skills, you'll feel more confident and empowered to make positive changes in your daily life.
