I can help you. My clinic is ALPHA Mental Health Services Inc. I treat the whole patient and approach our patients with empathy, compassion and evidence-based techniques. Medication often gives quicker relief, however with our hard work, together with brief solution-focused therapy, we will have the best hope for healing. I have a dual board certification as a Family NP and an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with many years of clinical experience in treating psychiatric disorders. Whether you’re coming in for a follow-up or a more complex initial psychiatric evaluation, I have the skills and resources to manage all of your mental health needs. I am committed to providing you and your loved ones with exceptional care in a compassionate and friendly atmosphere. I will make sure that you always feel welcome and at ease. And guess what? I offer flexible evening, weekend (appointments only), in-person and telepsychiatry services to meet your mental health needs. During our first session together, we will start with brief introductions then we dive into the specific challenges or problems that you are having. By so doing, it will help me establish an individualized plan for us to work through in follow up sessions
My mission and biggest strength are to provide evidence-based, holistic, quality and culturally competent psychiatric care in a friendly atmosphere. I create a nonjudgmental and an empathetic atmosphere where patients can be listened to. I consider the interconnectedness of the body, mind and spirit with patient’s environment. I am dual certified as a family and psychiatric NP with over 7 years of experience in mental health, with a background in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have extensive experience with Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) a form of psychological treatment that has been demonstrated to be effective for a range of problems including depression, anxiety disorders, alcohol and drug use problems, marital problems, eating disorders, and severe mental illness. How I use CBT in my practice. I place an emphasis on helping individuals learn to coping skills. Through exercises in the session as well as “homework” exercises outside of sessions, patients/clients are helped to develop coping skills, whereby they can learn to change their own thinking, problematic emotions, and behavior.

Irene was great! I was really scared at first because it had been a couple of years since I was on any medication, but she made me feel very comfortable, and I opened up immediately with her. She was able to explain everything to me in detail which also helped making me feel safe.
