I am Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, and Certified in Public Health. I have been in the nursing field since 2008, and am presently pursing my Doctorate in Nursing Practice. My nursing career includes extensive experience in ambulatory care, behavioral and mental health, public health, health education, emergency response and in nurse administration. My experience also includes psychiatric clinical care and leading Mental Health nursing departments treating a wide-spectrum of patients (i.e., veterans, adolescents, elderly, the underserved and vulnerable, and those at high-risk) in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I'm a firm believer in that everyone should have full access to high quality care to mental health services from the comfort of your own home! Lastly, I strive to build strong therapeutic alliances, and value the therapeutic relationship.
During the first session a full initial assessment and evaluation will be completed. If there is any diagnosis it will be discussed with you as well as treatment options.
My biggest strength is my commitment to the therapeutic relationship and focusing on an individual's strengths and needs. My goal is to optimize mental wellness by fostering emotional resilience-building on skills of self-awareness, mindfulness, self-care, positive relationships, and purpose. Building a level of choice, influence, and control over one's life events empowers the patient to achieve Mental Wellness.
In my practice, I provide psychotherapy using an integrative approach tailored to each client's needs. Psychoanalytic is a method used to help clients gain a deeper insight into themselves, uncover roots of their distress and foster lasting personal growth.
In my work, I often draw from humanistic therapy methods, which center on the belief that every person has the capacity for growth, healing and self-actualization. I focus on building a strong, authentic therapeutic relationship.
I regularly incorporate CBT into my work with clients, especially addressing issues like anxiety, depression, trauma responses and negative thought patterns. I guide clients in building skills such as cognitive reframing, emotional regulation, behavioral activation and mindfulness. CBT allows me to offer clear, goal-oriented strategies while maintaining a supportive, collaborative therapeutic relationship.
