Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In my experience, therapy is not a 'one-size-fits-all' solution. Every client is unique and requires a unique set of tools to achieve success. My goal as a therapist is to equip clients with the necessary toolkit to overcome current and future challenges. Combining Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with a Mindfulness approach provides clients with those powerful tools to navigate difficult emotions, reduce stress, and build resilience. With CBT, clients will learn to identify and change negative thought patterns that may be causing distress using a few simple steps.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Mindfulness teaches clients to be open and present in the moment, aware of their thoughts, feelings, emotions, and sensations without judgment or interpretation. Emphasis on the present enables clients to focus on the here and now, detaching from insecurities and preoccupations allowing for deeper, more meaningful connections and a positive outlook. These combined approaches enable clients to: 1) identify maladaptive patterns of behavior originating from distorted thoughts and feelings, 2) create an individual ‘coping toolbox’ to overcome cognitive distortions, and 3) establish a new and simple pattern of behavior rooted in the present as well as in a structured setting.
