About me

Hello! I am a Marriage and Family Therapist, licensed in California. I have almost three decades of working with families, adolescents, and young adults who have experienced a wide range of challenges. Mood issues, anxiety, various traumas or general disappointments are experiences that we all often experience. Life transitions happen. Therapy can be useful as you learn how to navigate through various experiences.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our fist session is a time to learn about each other. To examine our chemistry and if the "vibe" is right between us! My hope is to hear about what brought you to therapy, to gather information, and to discuss goals as we work together. I also hope to support being present with the here and now - to experience life with awe, humor, gratitude, and kindness towards oneself and others.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Some of my greatest strengths as a therapist is to be present with calm, thoughtful, and insightful support. I also very much enjoy laughing together - especially after what may be a very emotionally challenging session. I promise to work with my clients to put the pieces back together, at session's end - their goals, their strengths, and their positive coping strategies.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I feel really honored to be on the journey with people who seek therapy with me. Taking the time to explore your emotions and to consider your patterns of behaviors can feel informative. Breaking these patterns, changing the narrative, and exploring your strengths is tremendously empowering. Being on this path together, connecting through one's vulnerability, and witnessing change is what makes this work rewarding.

My treatment methods

Narrative

I enjoy working with people's stories and how to create a new "narrative" if the current one is not working for them. I incorporate one's strengths, hopes, and dreams in order to support movement towards the changes one is seeking in their life stories.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness is honoring what one is feeling and experiencing. The new catch-all word to accepting that there are emotions to be noted. Much of my work and my own personal journey has been to be present with one's emotions - to notice them and consider the response. Understanding one's experience may allow us to work towards communication in a way that is non-reactive and more productive for our relationships.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Our thoughts have such power over our behavior. Being able to change up the critical voice in our heads can support how we experience our daily lives. Checking in with this voice, being gentler and kinder, can improve one's mood and functioning.
